I see that the EU (allegedly) is introducing regulation to enforce another raft of electrical devices to be designed to shut down if they appear to be not in current use.
The EU's accountants?The EU's anti fraud squad?
No sign-off on years of accounts (still) and the report chapter on fraud actually in the EU itself - as opposed to member states - was blocked and remains unpublished.

In the manner of the Air Asia Chief Executive Mr Fernandes, the operators may be about to issue a statement that climate change is making turbine management riskier, particularly in temperate zones.

"If it saves one life ..... " etc., etc.
Would go to the science thread but might get more response here.
Anyone got any links to decent research/views/data etc on renewables like wind, solar, hydro? I am trying to help a guy at work out who has to write about these things. The brief says he must have references for any facts/claims. Laughably the brief mentions green peace as one place to get info... so you can see which way the examiners wind blows.
But I thought I'd be helpful and get some balance in there.
I will have a look on various journal sites as I still have a working Athens log in to places like AJP, Science Direct, Elsevier etc.

As a starter for ten, or even two, these links (below) to 'decent research' would appear to me to be important inclusions in the list.Anyone got any links to decent research/views/data etc on renewables like wind, solar, hydro?

is there a link to the one the 4 google employees did? Where they figured that in order to just support the current renewable infrastructure.... they'd have to continually build more renewable sources ad infinitum ?
WAIT! Its actually in your second link!
I was trying to remember where I'd seen it and it was posted somewhere on Twitter.

Once the work at those two links gets examined, there may be a reduced need for more!
well now they have science about why we don't believe in their science... yes there are a hockey stick, "97%" and many other amenities

2014 confirmed as UK's hottest year
Last year was the UK's warmest since records began in 1910, the Met Office has said.
It was also the warmest year in the Central England Temperature series, which dates back to 1659, and is the longest running record of its type.
The UK's mean temperature for the year was 9.9C - that is 0.2 degrees higher than the previous record set in 2006.
Last year's record means that eight of the UK's top ten warmest years have occurred since 2002

Briggsy on Real Climate

"Everything that can go wrong with a time series analysis has gone wrong with the post “Recent global warming trends: significant or paused or what?” at Real Climate. So many classic mistakes are made that I hesitate to show them all. But it’ll be worth it to do so. Be sure to read to the end where I ascribe blame."
Awesome, but...He's too harsh on himself, no group of statisticians could hope to keep track with the nonsense visited on already corrupt near-surface data by true belief. Steve McIntyre now looks older than his years for trying and he like Briggs does a damned good job.http://wmbriggs.com/blog/

Last line:
'None of this involves any established causality to any activity or emission from such activity on the part of mankind'.
Error:
In no way at all have eight of the UK's top ten warmest years (an unqualified statement) occurred in the last 12 years.
At least the worthlessness of the information will be clear to many on PH.
