Norway had it's own issue when a failed asylum seeker went on a knife rampage on a bus in Northern Norway a few years ago - he got to stay, albeit in a luxury Norwegian jail...
http://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/europe/norwegian-rape-victim-feels-guilty-the-man-who-raped-him-was-deported-a6975041.html

This was the worst. Migrant rapes a man and the raped man felt guilty that the guy was to be deported.
Seems to be a common theme in Scandinavian countries.

Stockholm syndrome indeed

I lived in Scandinavia for over 5 years. I expected it to be like the UK, but a little different. fk me! It's a different planet, a totally different planet!
Sadly it's an entirely beautiful part of the world, but has some of the most intolerant people going. The land of the opinion corridor, deviate or move beyond that corridor of correct opinion and you'll be ostracised or have the Antifa scum raid your house for wrong opinions. It's laughable that they dare to call themselves a "humanitarian superpower" in Sweden, especially when they let in so many migrants while suffering a housing shortage, must be great living in a tent in the scandi winter.

Just glad Norway and Finland, who both suffer their own portion of touchy-feely retards, seem to keep them in check.

It's not so tolerant as some make out. At one point there was feeling against the purchase of summer houses by Dutch and German citizens. That led to vandalisation of vehicles. Unfortunately they didn't discriminate, any vehicle not on Scandiwegian plates suffered. I can personally testify that a GB registered vehicle in the middle of bleeding nowhere with 4 slashed tyres is a royal pain in the rectum to sort out on a summer weekend in July, when all the sodding country is shut.

Equally in the way foreign expat citizens are sometimes treated by employers in comparison the way Swedes are treated is disgraceful.

+1 to the 2 above.

And to add, I can personally testify that a GB registered fking Swedish built Volvo, parked on a privately owned (by my better half) road in the middle of nowhere with a smashed window is equally a royal (I'm a republican really) pain in the rectum, and the useless police didn't help much by telling me that I am responsible for sweeping the smashed pieces of glass up, or I would get fined!

Try being a fellow Nordic citizen, the only people you are allowed to be openly racist against are Danes, Finns and Norwegians, and believe me, people are!

I read this thread and associated constant whine about how bad things are. I don't recognise that from my experience at all. Norway was the same. Lovely places, friendly, hard working people, hospitable people.

When did you last visit Sweden, and for how long? Things have really gone downhill here for the last few years. I lived in surrey, Sussex and Dorset for many years, I never saw or experienced any problems of any sort, that doesn't mean there aren't problems in the UK though.

Quite a few years ago. I do believe that some people, not necessarily you, will complain no matter what.

As I said, in the last few years there really has been a change.
Schools, healthcare, infrastructure and the police are in a really bad shape due to lack of funds, still we have one of the highest taxes in the world. Gang violence is rife, ak47s and handgrenades are commonly used. There are 50+ trouble/no-go zones where emergency services require police backup to enter, and they still get pelted with rocks.

When I was there, there were also talks about ak47s and hand grenades. Gang violence was also talked about, but it was 'home-grown' bikers gangs. That was all on the TV, but with friends/colleagues we were talking about where to get smoked fish, horse meat, which club to go to and bh about prices of alcohol. Maybe I lived in a bubble, but I haven't experienced any of that. And as a foreigner never had a single problem with locals.

As I said, I'm sure that there are problems. Like everywhere else. Some people will moan and complain wherever they are, some will get on with things and enjoy themselves. Or people, like some dimwit on another thread, can choose to look at every truck and every person with a backpack with suspicion and fear.

Maybe, it depends on when you lived here, in the 90s then not so much of a bubble, but the later than that, the bigger the bubble hehe

IMO there are most likely a few problem areas (like any country) but because of the "socialist dream" then the bad things are completely blown out of proportion. This thread makes Norway and Sweden sound like some dodgy part of Somalia. I have lived in Norway for 7 years now (travelling a lot around the country, as well as around Sweden) the only ever issue I have seen are 3. The first was a bar fight over a girl, the second was someone getting a kicking on News Year Eve (not sure why although I did step in) and third was my car getting the soft top cut open and stealing some stuff from it. That's not to say things are perfect here, or there isn't problems. But it's a bit like saying a some part of inner Glasgow shows the UK is a hell hole and completely failed country.

Precisely.

I don't know what happened in the last couple of years, as I haven't been even for a visit, but I'd be very surprised if it went from a fantastic place to be to some Kafkian bad dream.

In 50+ places it has. http://www.aftonbladet.se/nyheter/krim/article2223...

That wouldn't be too bad, but as the leaders choose to bury their heads in the sand, the problem is not going to go away.

It was good to see the police resources aren't completely drained a few minutes ago as I saw a nice helicopter hovering over the E45 as we came into Gothenburg catching unaware speeding motorists biggrin /PH

I had a look at that list, there are 3 'no-go zones' in Helsingborg (where I was). Two of those, at the time, were places where competing bike gangs were sorting out their differences. Most certainly not 'no go zones'. I'll have a word with my Swedish friend who lives there, to see what's the current situation.

I think part of the issue is integration or, rather, lack of it. Immigrants helped to rebuild the UK after WW2 and, whilst they went to certain areas, for the most part there is 50-70 years of integration or a few generations worth. There has been a mass influx in to Sweden which has caused certain areas to become home solely to the immigrants. I think I may have mentioned it before, there are blocks of flats in Flen which Somali immigrants wanted to buy up as they wanted to keep the area solely for themselves - this just simply doesn't happen in the UK. I know you've got places like Southall where you have lots of Asian immigrants who have made the area "their own" over time but they still allow others in - I don't get that warm friendly feeling in parts of Sweden I have visited.

Depends what one means with no-go zones, if you have enough manpower you can go anywhere, if you cannot enter an area with the same manpower as is used elsewhere, then it can be said to be a trouble zone or a no-go zone.

Whatever people with opposing views are saying, these are real problems and they are spreading across the country, all while the politicians in charge are looking the other way.

More of the bloody politically correct SJW classes in Sweden at it again. They really are fking up a nice country, when will they get their heads out of their arses.
