What's the point of asking a question that YOU asked only as far back as the 10th of November and got quite a few responses. It's only a few pages back. If it concerns you so much just remove the thread from ones you follow.

Classic rofl

That aside it was the first thing which came to my mind once I learned that the guy was Swedish. Looks like Swedish LE is putting a lot of resources atm trying to contain the problem.

There’s also the point of having an open and enquiring mind

We may live on an island .... but it’s good up know and understand what’s going on elsewhere

Especially if somewhere hailed as utopia actually isn’t

I loved visiting it and we moved there thinking it would be a long-term option. But, living there is a VERY different prospect! Forget taxes, they're not that bad. But, you mention schools and I can tell you that in Norway the schools and hospitals are falling apart. The education system and health system now lags the UK. Social spending is monstrous and the cracks are beginning to show. Alcoholism, depression, massive long-term sick-leave, rotten justice system, violence towards women, outright fraud - all stuff you only see after years of living there.

Still, nice to visit, very pretty.
how come it is falling apart?

Never been to the Nordic countries, I'd do the Rekorderlig tour, as I like Swedish cider. Used to love Kopparberg but find it too sweet now, though there is a reduced sugar version which is nice.
I always thought Sweden/similar would be a nice place to retire to. I like the idea of Janteloven.

July 2008 when I went to see Iron Maiden at the Ullevi in Gothenburg, does that mean I'm not allowed to read the thread any longer? biggrin

Is there another, more reputable, source for this? I don't entirely trust the Norwegian born, British national, Holocaust denier you linked to. ( http://archive.is/WPgDV ) .
Seems to have a lot to say about Sweden even though he's spent more of his life in the UK than there.

He's got some other pretty strong views about homosexuality too - his comment on the Orlando gay club shooting, for example.

Much better than a dodgy twitter link, not that bombing are anything new in Scandinavia, at least they are not using anti tank rockets like the biker gangs have a habit of using

My Scandinavian language skills are what I’d (very) optimistically describe as “rudimentary”. Are there any decent, reputable (non tabloid) English language news sources that are worth following? I’m following “The Local” for both Denmark and Sweden on Facebook, but they’re both a bit light on actual news and are rather more “fluff” than reporting.

I find it strange that none of my friends who live in Stockholm or their family's have been blown up in all the years I have known them.

You would think that going by this thread at least one of them would have been

Seems like the Swedish/Malmö gang violence has now spread to London as well.

The guy was a close friend to the above mentioned woman in Malmö, and had been living in London for three years, He also has connections to criminal gangs in Sweden/Malmö.
That's shocking. London used to be such a peaceful place.

Although there has been a few bombings now and then in the olden days, the link in my post had a very apt heading.

Antalet sprängdåd ökar kraftigt i Sverige

Sweden sees a drastic increase in bombings

Can't really think of any, SVT, Sveriges Radio, Expressen, Aftonbladet, DN usually have snippets of bigger news in English, that's about it.
