How does Google hinder competition? Plenty of choice of browsers for the end user... Or is it a case that Google have a good product, the end users like it and the EU don't like the fact Google have a big market share?
The "how" is clearly explained in the documentation for the fine tongue out

http://europa.eu/rapid/press-release_IP-19-1770_en...

It's about advertising and anti-competitive contract terms.

Google did also get a big fine a while ago for thrusting chrome on all android users. They can't really complain about that, Microsoft got fined again and again for doing the same with internet explorer and eventually had to implement the "browser choice" stuff you see when you set up a new windows machine, so it's not like it came out of nowhere!

Doubt it but if it does where does the money go?

Decent scam to make up lost income from Brexit.

It goes into the general EC budget, which thereby reduces the contribution required by all the member states, which thereby feeds back into the pockets of all the taxpayers in those member states.

Can someone please pass a law for every website to offer a tracking and snooping free option and a return of
privacy.
Once upon a time we were told evil people out there are trying to harvest our info etc etc and now its the norm.
You can see how its happened as the governments have got into bed with the likes of google.
That idiot tory minister is the latest trying to break barriers of confidentiality as apparently all the knowledge collated and crunched through google and the like will help detect chances of illness.
The only thing this will do is make sure some peoples insurance premiums are suddenly higher even though they
may never get the illnesses this bks will predict.

Based on past audit outcomes, your guess is as good as mine. My guess is it feeds back into the pockets of a very select group of people indeed.

Not sure about that, there's a clear line item in the accounts for it...

Page 23 if you can't be bothered to look at the whole thing. Probably not the smartest first step if you were trying to vanish billions of euros.

Wonder how he'll react to the financial kicking Boeing are about to receive along with a possible loss of business to Airbus after some dodgy software has had their spanking new planes dropping out of the sky.
