Why do you hate the SNP?
Discussion
I forget who it was, but think it was the UUP. They said yesterday that they wanted Northern Ireland to stand on it's own two feet and be and economic power house like it used to be and not rely on handouts from the rest of the UK, they wanted to be open for business. I'd vote for that.
The SNP come across as blaming England for all of its ills while wanting more of its tax money to prop them up. The reason why the whole of the UK in financial trouble is because it has spent too much money. The SNP seem to be ignoring this fact and think that spending more more is the answer to the problem, that more money largely will be coming from England.

What 'race' is it they dislike so vehemently?
OED:An advocate or supporter of racism; a person whose words or actions display prejudice or discrimination on the grounds of race (see race n.6 1b, 1c, 1d). Also in extended use: a person who is prejudiced against people of other nationalities. Cf.

Are you for real? Look at all the racist nonsense the scots have had to put up with over the years! And YOU are complaining? Jeez!
Anti-English violent attacks have been rising in Scotland for at least ten years, I don't see attacks against Scots for being Scots in England, yet the opposite is rife in Scotland. They are small minded halfwits who use the promise of making things "better" despite not knowing how they'd do it.
Their leaders are not interested in anything else other than themselves and their place in the history books.
Much the same as any political party, except they use they are intent on destroying a great nation in order to achieve their fame.
They are divisive scum.

Scottish votes in the last UK election:
SNP: 491,386
Con: 412,855
Looking like a lot more SNP this time though.
Difference of seventy odd thousand so the population of East Kilbride or thereabouts, I'd guess. SNP: 491,386
Con: 412,855
Looking like a lot more SNP this time though.
Shows what a farce even the progressive Scottish electoral system is, never mind first-past-the-post.
Ms Sturgeon never mentions that figure though.

I swore I wouldn't comment on these type of threads threads, but do you really believe that?I am Scottish, albeit with a (Scottish) public school posh boy accent, and have lived in Scotland, Manchester, Surrey, Devon and now Wales in the last 10 years. There is a bit of rivalry/banter, but without ANY doubt the HUGE majority of the English feel a great deal of affection toward the Scottish; they are welcomed in England.
Granted, that is also (mainly) true for an English person living north of the border, but there is far more genuine (as opposed to the banter I've already mentioned) anti English sentiment in Scotland than there is anti Scottish sentiment in England, and if you're claiming otherwise then I'm going to assume you're ignorant. Have you actually lived in England? - If so and you experienced anti Scottish racism I have to wonder about the company you kept.

Oh quite likely, but in that case he is judging me based on my accent and education. I would add, without knowing anything else about me.Which means that of the two of us, he is the one making judgements and stereotyping, and if that is based on nothing more than an English accent, who's the racist one?

I'm sure he'll be along shortly to say that you're a Scot if you want to be Which means that of the two of us, he is the one making judgements and stereotyping, and if that is based on nothing more than an English accent, who's the racist one?

The only racism is due to your chip on your shoulderAnd your constant victim card waving
I was scottish until last year
I have never noticed racism while i was scottish
Then last year i suddenly discovered despite being born in scotland and living my entire life in scotland i am an english
And being an english i get stloads of abuse from the scots

You were doing just fine until you said this..... SNP a credible alternative???? Really? I think the reason why so many people feel antipathy towards the SNP and its supporters is precisely because so much of what the SNP said during the referendum debate had ZERO credibility to anyone with half an ounce of sense, yet 45% of those that voted seemed to think it was credible. From currency to shipbuilding, from EU membership to iScotlands finances in the future, the whole SNP position as encapsulated in the infamous white paper was so flakey that I am surprised that Cadburys didn't phone up and demand a royalty payment!! Are you really trying to claim (still) that SNP has credibility?
99% of everything said on both sides of the referendum debate was pish, let's not be partisan about it; CMD soiled himself when the polls showed a narrow yes, made some rash promises and got Broon to make other rash promises to try and head it off. The difference between the content and tone of the rash promises and the content and tone of the Smith report and the rubbish talked about it in the media, combined with Labour trying really hard to destroy itself in Scotland have brought us to where we are now.hidetheelephants said:

I am not trying to be confrontational, but can you list at least some of the "pish" from the Better Together side? On all the substantive issues it seems to me that BT were just about right?
Edited to add that I do agree with you about the behaviour of Messrs Cameron and Brown. To my mind it was un necessary and in fact may even have cost BT some votes.
