I've just watched the 'Nigel Farage - who are you' program on 4od
http://www.channel4.com/programmes/nigel-farage-wh...

In it we see Nigel embark on cross-continental Harry Metcalfe style night time hoonage in a volvo S80 as opposed to flying/public transport, and see him laugh at the ridiculousness of 'speed cameras everywhere'.

It also turns out UKIP want all cars over 25 years old to not pay any VED, so clearly he supports us all running fleets of fantastic 80s cars:

This has been muttered about by various people for years, and finally here is hard policy! Not sure why this hasn't been on the PH front pages as I certainly missed it.

I wonder if he is to be found lurking hehe

Clearly the OP hasn't found the NP&E forum. Nige may not be on here, but he's got plenty of acolytes!

I suspect this probably has something to do with it:

I meant the response was funny, not him in the crash

It could be seen as poetic justice for Farage's publicity stunt, breaking not just one but two agreed conventions respected by all parties - letting the (nominally apolitical) Speaker stand unopposed, and not campaigning on the day of the election itself.

I hope he is on here. He does at least appear to give a s**t about motorists, unlike the other parties.

Yes anyone who does such a thing clearly deserves to fall out of the sky in a light aircraft.

Did I forget to mention the complete lack of judgement in selecting a pilot to hire (crash caused by the banner getting tangled in the plane, pilot currently in prison for threatening to kill a CAA official)?

I believe the threats to kill happened after the crash did they not? wink

Another I agree with is the promise to remove parking charges from hospitals. When my father had Cancer neither he nor my mother could work because he needed constant care and taking for chemotherapy twice a week. My parents were dipping into savings and pension funds just to pay their mortgage and their bills and the car parking charges were a serious drain on their finances. That's probably even more important than removing speed cameras because charging people to park at hospitals shouldn't be necessary, especially when many have Parking Eye systems that cause problems and stress for people at difficult times, and people often have to make repeated and unavoidable visits to hospitals.

UKIP have also promised to reduce Fuel Duty. A party that can be on the motorist's side is a party that is appealing to a great many people, probably most of the voting public, so it makes sense despite the fact most parties don't seem to appreciate it.

And not for the first time. With that, the cancer and the car crash that makes 3 of his nine lives used up.

Yes, he is lucky to be alive. As well as the above crash, he has also survived testicular cancer, despite some NHS balls-ups.

He is aware of Pistonheads, and the NPE forum, but is not on here himself.
