A depressing but utterly predictable outcome. Will the SNP scrap the scheme as a result of this? Not a chance.

Very real - Children and Young People (Scotland) Act 2014 - Part 4.

And then people wonder where we get the Nazi comparisons from!

Yes it is.... we keep asking Edinburger for a reasoned debate on this - but he shirks it off with some smiley's and "You don't understand the legislation..... you read too much Daily Mail..."

He just deflects.

But it is scary.

When you read the sorts of questions Named Person can ask children about their parents, the similarity with the junior spies in George Orwell's 1984 become very obvious.

What he really means is that he doesn't grasp the consequences of the legislation, and I suspect the overwhelming majority of Scots in general do not.

So, if I read this right, (and I may not be) Ms Sturgeon is asking No voters to vote SNP so that they can all help to improve Scotland. She is also saying that another referendum is not on the cards unless a significant number of No voters change their minds.... So, am I being cynical to suggest that her ploy here is to lull No voters into voting for the SNP under the guise of there being no risk of another referendum, and then she will point to that vote as the evidence she needs to justify holding another referendum?

Confused

I agree with your analysis. I voted 'no' in the referendum and will not be voting for the SNP in May. I do, however, think that the SNP will win a 3rd consecutive term with an easy majority.

The scottish parliment does nothave a second house but rather commities of MPs of most MSP's are SNP and they have a majority do you have a situation where they review there own plans so can just do what they like with no one to question it. I would hate the Torys to have a majority an thee be no HoL to challenge them etc.

So the SNP conference is almost right across the road from me today - should I nip down and set the fire-alarm off? biggrin

Not wanting to stir anything up here, and it's a genuine question....

I have just watched Nicola Sturgeon on National TV saying Westminster had yet to deliver everything set out in the Vow to the Scottish People.

What hasn't been done?

Thankfully i am on the other side of town, on the radio though in news, basically saying that wont have referendum mk 3 without a change in support (the fact they will get 3rd term will be seen as that support even though less than half population voted for them, govt we didnt vote for indeed!)

Then said if UK leaves EU but majority of scots wanted to stay, then obviously we have to leave UK, even though booting out of EU then going alone would be an even worse situ.

Le sigh.

There was a nugget in Glasgow yesterday with a saltire out each back window. I just associate it now with the SNP, which shouldn't be the case.

Every time I see the rancid wee boot I think of George Robertson. Same wee tiny mouth. Same propensity for talking ste out it.

She moved the goal posts of what to deliver and also delivery date. All making it seem odd to the electorate say it enough times and those lacking brain power may well believe it and think yea she right.
