Yep, he looked rough as fk the last few TV appearances I saw him do. I guess all the booze finally caught up with him, such a shame for his friends and family.

One of the few semi-decent politicians that said what he thought rather than the party line as well.

He always seemed to me to be a decent man, unlike most career politicians.

Hugely sad loss of an intelligent and likeable person. He was someone you could talk with about almost anything and he had a razor sharp memory.
His son Donald will only be about 10 years old.
He'll be a huge loss to Lochaber.

Usually I just think 'oh well' when news like this is released but I'm genuinely sad about the passing of Charles Kennedy.

He appeared to be a charming politician.

A true gent has passed, he was a credit to Westminster, he had far more integrity than Clegg. He will be sorely missed.

I met Charles Kennedy at a wedding several years ago, a hugely engaging man who was clearly very capable; sadly afflicted by addiction that prevented him realising his full potential. Very sad for those close to him.
