I think the BBC are waiting for Cilla's family to confirm the death.
They're trying to find our Graham to give a quick reminder an announcement.

Unfortunately a vile individual it seems.

Having said that, she has made noises in the past over not wishing to live past 75, so makes you wonder if other than natural causes may be involved here. We shall see.

Horrible person or not, it's not pleasant to mock or rejoice in someone's death.

Her shows entertained millions for many years and 72 is no age at all these days.

RIP Cilla.

Whilst I am obviously very sorry when anyone famous dies, (unless it's the likes of Ian Huntley and Myra Hindley etc), I can't say I held any special affection for "Cilla" Black....

She was a damn fine singer in the early sixties, in fact I bought all her singles with my pocket money at the time, BUT, what I don't buy into is this "Our" Cilla from Liverpool guff......a national treasure....ffs!

As soon as she became famous she was away from Liverpool to the bright lights of London like a shot,( now't wrong with that), but what rankled with me was the way she continued to trade on the "Our kid from Merseyside, one of us" for years afterwards.

Apparently, as been mentioned already, she was a bit of a prima donna, forgetting her humble beginnings in the cloakroom of the "original" Cavern club.

So yes, I'm sorry she has died, a great shame for her three children too, but I'll get over it.

Only thing is Cilla was known by many many people in the world of ahowbiz and many had met her so they probably had every reason to #rushtogush for once!

Some class comments there.
She's not far off the mark though,

I await Michelle Heaton giving an interview to Ok magazine about the time she bumped into Cilla's PA whilst buying a loaf of bread in the local co-op.
