True.
Murders per week ~10 to 12?
Jackpots per week ~2 to 3?

However, those murdered are certainly unlucky, while those who win a lottery jackpot are lucky...and they bought a ticket (or were given one).

Be lucky smile

Not true, because being murdered isn't a lottery. Some people have a much higher chance of being murdered (drug dealers fro example) than others. It's not always random, in fact it's rarely random.

If you go into a city centre every night, get drunk, get into fights etc, live in a rough area, you increase your risk of being murdered. If you're a woman living with an abusive partner, you're more likely to be murdered.

So you can't make that comparison as a bloke in his 50s living a quiet life in a nice little village is probably more likely to win the lotto than be murdered.
