I am lost for words
Discussion
I lost my aunt and uncle within a year of each other, about 15 years ago.
They were both rational people, of sound mind etc.
A month or so after my aunt died, my uncle was turning the mattress, and found 9k hidden underneath it.
No idea why it was there.
I suspect that this is more common than people realise.

Kept his money in the bank etc., but when he passed away 5 years go, his hiding money skills were discovered.
He would put 1k into envelopes and slip them inside books, under his veggie draw bottom liner, taped up under draws.
We found quite a few thousand when emptying his house and had to check everything.

I am in no way making excuses, but old people do bruise very easily, so the mans injuries, while horrible, are probably much worse because of his age.
Have you considered a glittering career as a criminal barrister? To reiterate, I am not making excuses for the person that did this, but am trying to put some balance to the emotive picture.
