Hitler was happier and had cooler cars than Merkel?

Germany's police escort cars are embarrassing?

it is almost as if she realises she made a huge mistake.....
She can't possibly know how big the mistake is, there are no reliable records of how many arrived or are still arriving.
The point she lost this election was the point when she declared Germany open to all and sundry. It was the most idiotic political stunt. No matter how well-meant (or equally, how cynically calculating, on the other hand) it may have been, it was ill advised and has had major repercussions.

Clearly there were motives to show solidarity with and to set an example to, the Eastern EU states that were being swamped with arrivals, and yes there was (and is) a demographic need for Germany to add new, young, workers, but the issues that were ignored in that decision - not least the impact on the host population - were grossly miscalculated.

Good question. Bigkeeko, over to you - what point do you think the picture is making?

Selectively quoting you there Digga, but with youth unemployment levels in the Southern EU countries as they are, did she really need to go further afield?

Merkel has given a tv interview to be aired this evening, has said she would rather have fresh elections than form a minority government.

Newspaper polls indicate public want her to go due after the coalition talks failed- 61% to go, 31.5% to stay.

The way to go IMO. Pick a leader untainted by Merkel's mistakes.

The 'EU promoter of Green Energy' is rather quiet on this latest Merkel news.

He's a massive - possibly the biggest - fan of hers.

I'm wondering why he is not posting and enlightening us of what is really happening?

hehe

Genuinely can't understand how anyone could remotely be a fan of hers.

Wrong thread. We're talking about Germany here. Teresa May doesn't really come into the equation here.

I think she did pretty well for Germany until she welcomed the thousands of ‘Syrian’ refugees. While a noble idea, I think it has caused a lot of political trouble and possibly resulted in the U.K. voting to leave the EU as well as an increase in people voting for right wing political parties.

I rather think ‘political trouble’ is the least of the problems thousands of feral, felonious inbreds bring.

She’s an absolute scum bag and a truly dreadful, unworthy leader of a once-great Germany.

The epitome of treason.

"This [multicultural] approach has failed, utterly failed," Angela Merkel - 2010.

Then the biggest U turn in politics since the `bankers` shifted allegiance mid war in 1916.

We will probably see the true cost of her leadership after she has left office. She has built a large export based economy on the back of a devalued currency that has sucked the life out of the south of Europe, generated a huge financial imbalance in the system whilst not allowing the measures required to balance it out. That usually means boom events are around the corner. You are already seeing the effects of the social cost of her policies, this will be nothing compared to the economic costs when it goes bang.

It's also interesting that the President tells her to get back into talks and instead she goes on TV to say that's not what she wants to do. I bet that went down well with el presidente.

Based on the damage she's caused to Europe, i'm enjoying watching her squirm.
