I am happy that anybody who has paid their own way through medical school has the right to up sticks and work anywhere in the world they choose.

I am happy there should be restrictions (pay-back of tax payers funding) if those qualifications were funded by tax payers.

Terrorist attack on the AFD office in Saxony too.
It is all sounding a little 1930s for my liking over there.
I think they have learned from the 1930s though, which is why you are seeing violence against the far right.

30’s showed you can’t accommodate them within the democratic process, because extremists of left and right fundamentally don’t believe in it. Same issue with religious fundamentalism as well.

The only thing they seemed to have learnt is how to repeat it not stop it.

Have a read up on history the likes of the brown shirts and RFB. It all started with political driven violence which only went to legitimise the violent response of the opposing side. And ultimately the tyrannical and authoritarian control of the people.

Your comments of "you can’t accommodate them within the democratic process," is literally a page taken from the Nazis themselves. And says more about you than anything else.

Where would you personally draw the line, out of curiosity?

Despite my decent job, I still haven't paid off my student loans over a decade in, and almost certainly not the cost of my birth, early education, vaccinations, etc, either.

Should workers be stuck in their country of origin until they can repay the tax invested in them at the cost of economic growth and career stagnation?

Such a situation could also be abused- ramp up the costs of medical school and slash the salary, and we could become like Cuba, with doctors earning less than taxi drivers. Nurses are currently leaving with an average of £50k student debt, which would trap them in debt bondage for their entire life.

Germany are moaning about the brain drain now and want to stop doctors and others emigrating. How very progressive of them. They’ve been happy enough to poach labour from the poorer parts of Europe and the world for years.

“VIENNA (Reuters) - The European Union should consider regulating to stop member states from poaching each other’s doctors and other professionals, German Health Minister Jens Spahn said.”

Why are they worried about that? Merkle imported a million doctor and scientists.

Meanwhile an asylum seeker stabbed a pregnant Polish woman in hospital and she lost her baby.
Part and parcel.

It was a Polish woman, not a police woman..

And, it seems, it wasn't a random attack, rather they were known to each other. He'd gone to the hospital to visit her, an argument developed, leading to the stabbing.

So the morale of the story is...? Educate women on the dangers of arguing with asylum seekers? Don't get to know any asylum seekers as then people will victim blame?

AfD votes to campaign for German exit from EU if demands not met.

Not sure what all their demands are, abolishing European Parliament is one, the one that their manifesto just approved is targeted.

Anyway off you go.

Does anyone else have to read this in the voice of the French policeman from Allo Allo?

Reading this, anyone would think non-asylum seekers/immigrants ever committed acts of violence against their partners...

So what you're saying is the crime statistics between asylum seekers, economic migrants and residents are roughly on a similar level?

Unfortunately that is false.

Some people think wheeling out the sexual harassment panda is enough of a response. They do not want to look deeper into the cause of the problem.

Integration is the critical issue. Without it, a successful outcome from both the perspective of the immigrant or host nation is very slim.

Indeed and integration is a difficult 2 way street.

The individual must listen, learn and adapt.

The state must provide resources to train and assist with adaption. But also, critically missing, be willing to remove those who refuse to integrate.

At the same time the host state must accept that the flavour will change forever. (In the UK this can be seen quite literally!)

A man with links to rightwing extremist groups who once planted a pipe bomb outside a home for asylum seekers is a suspect in the murder of a German politician this month, security sources have said.

https://www.theguardian.com/world/2019/jun/17/susp...

As the investigation into the murder of Walter Lübcke intensifies, Cologne's mayor and several other German politicians have had their lives threatened. Police say the threats likely also stem from right-wing extremists.
