He said THESE immigrant types. The these makes all the difference.
No it doesn't. The use of "these" to refer to a particular ethnic group, and then to link that to an imagined crime-wave is precisely what makes it racist - by its very definition.

Jeez

And the titles to "random" links were all very revealing. To save time, you could just as easily have posted "Them darkies are after our white women". .
And is it often true?

Deary me.

I'll count myself out of this one. We're sunk if we can't discuss things rationally without professional umbrage takers trying to make themselves look good.

We are discussing things rationally. But your efforts to make a racist statement not look racist by misconstruing the English simply don't work.

I find it very hard to believe that an organised gang of over 1000 young men gathered and set out with the express purpose of copping a feel... No doubt it's a disgraceful way to behave but I have to wonder how much panic and hyperbole are in these reports and whether German women feel differently to an immigrant brushing up against them to your bog standard germanic type - cause if they do that's proper racist, we should have equal opportunity groping at drunken mass festivals, in my opinion.

Indeed it is often tru. Some cultures see white women as far better than darker skinned ones.

I could link a lot of articles to instances of this but fear i would be called "Racist".

Nope. Not at all. Its the st storm of unsupported kids they leave behind when they get bored or have the arranged marriage catch up to them.

I do agree though that the amount of white women that are absolute suckers needs to be worked on.

I bet you wouldn't drop her off in Rotherham on a Saturday night and tell her to just get a taxi home.

Reports in the Telegraph and various German papers of women having their underwear torn off them, being bruised from where they have been groped by gangs of 5 or more at a time, penetration with fingers by groups, attempts at abductions and of one reported rape with more expected.

If anything the BBC have downplayed the situation.

Has anyone suggested that an organised gang of 1000 young men specifically set out to 'cop a feel' as you so eloquently put it?

Your doubts about the veracity of the story comes as no surprise though, any reports of wrong doing by those who've been welcomed into another country are clearly false or massively exaggerated, and like many others on here are usually countered by pointing the finger at similar crimes committed by the indigenous population.

According to you the following story is just hyperbole and panic, and German women wouldn't bat an eyelid if the 1000 odd young men were German:

He said THESE immigrant types. The these makes all the difference. I think it reasonable and fair to assume he used that phrase as a way of specifying those who came in the great migrant gangfk of 2015, be they Syrian, Lybian, Iraqi or whatever.

Also, they do have very different ethical standards. Some the same, some better, some worse. But different none the less.

You're looking for racism where there isn't any.

Sexual harassment is a widespread and serious problem in Egypt, as the country ranks second in the world after Afghanistan in terms of this issue. Also, the research “Study on Ways and Methods to Eliminate Sexual Harassment in Egypt” carried out by UN Women in 2013 revealed that over 99.3 % of Egyptian girls and women surveyed reported experiencing some form of sexual harassment in their lifetime. According to the same study 82.6 percent of the total female respondents did not feel safe or secure in the street. The percentage increased to 86.5 percent with regard to safety and security in public transportation.

These threads always end up the same, a couple end up bickering over "you said this and I said that", which detracts from what the thread was about.

On one side you have the extreme racists, Muslim / Immigrant haters and on the other those that disagree with them. The extremists want to ban them, restrict movement etc those that disagree just disagree - yet never offer anything.

Germany like others have realised that their open door policy has created a problem on all manner of levels, some to be expected some not, the numerous terror attacks, and alleged foiled attacks all tend to come from the same community. Surely nobody can deny that there is a problem with some of these people - of course is it not all of them, but nobody has put forward any meaningful solutions to these problem.

If you were Merkel what would you do ?
Killing people or banning a religion are not options, neither is resigning.....

"Merkel habe ihre Empörung über diese „widerwärtigen Übergriffe und sexuellen Attacken“ ausgedrückt. Sie verlangten „nach einer harten Antwort des Rechtsstaats“. Die Schuldigen müssten so schnell und vollständig wie möglich ermittelt und ohne Ansehen ihrer Herkunft oder ihres Hintergrunds bestraft werden, erklärte Merkel weiter."

"Merkel expressed her outrage at these "odious assaults and sexual attacks". She demanded "a tough response from the law/ judiciary/ authorities". The culprits must be identified as quickly and completely as possible and punished regardless of their origin or their background, Merkel explained."

Right on.
