He is well mannered and give considered views.
Whether you agree or disagree with a particular view he has....
He argues his case with very well - and he backs ups his position with points that are crystal clear.

Not sure I agree that he's a comedy figure. That's Boris' role. JRM comes across to me as someone who takes his job incredibly seriously, though not himself.

He's definitely got a keen wit. Check out his Instagram post outside the tattoo parlour. I challenge you to find something that clever from any other politician (in any party).

I think the "circle-jerk" derives from JRM coming across as a very articulate, well mannered chap. He answers directly what he is asked and backs up his answers clearly sometimes to the detrement of the party, which is probably why he is just an MP.

Most politicians (from all parties) just waffle on about any old tripe, twisting it into an attack of the opposition if they possibly can, detracting from the question put before them. Piss boiling politics and it's no wonder we all think they are lying gobshytes.

Labour could do with some JRM's, but because a lot of labour MP's are fking stupid they somehow better represent the communities rather than the well educated chaps. Baffling really.

Jacob Rees-Mogg today pledged to meet the young man who had “Moggmentum” tattooed on his chest and take him for tea at the House of Commons. Giving his blessing to 24-year-old tattooee Ross Atkinson, the North East Somerset MP said he was “enormously honoured and flattered… it’s a huge compliment, very flattering”.
