I'm very much a Tory voter but I've a lot of time of Andy Burnham - Labour would win the election next month if he was leader imho and he'd possibly get my vote if he was my MP.
Would this be the same Andy 'See no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil' Burnham who was in charge of the DoH while the NHS was busy neglecting patients to death at Stafford Hospital? If so that's a low bar to cross if he's the front runner; he's another 2nd rate leftover from the Blair-Brown years.

Just watched this and it was actually quite sober viewing and not what I (and many here I suspect) expected.

(Rhetorical statement alert)... I don't understand those that are saying that some mosques are breeding and promoting extremist views (eg the chap talking about Didsbury mosque) are not responded to by the politicians on the panel? If he hasn't been interviewed by the police or intelligence services by now then you don't need to look far to understand why events like those on Monday take place.

It's easy to point a finger of blame after the event, but this guy (and many others) are giving warnings now... who is following up on them?

I'm very much a Tory voter but I've a lot of time of Andy Burnham - Labour would win the election next month if he was leader imho and he'd possibly get my vote if he was my MP.
That's an easy one. They (all the politicians and all the police) are fully aware of the propaganda merchants - where and who they are, where they operate, and their spheres of influence. The overriding decision to soft pedal so as to avoid unrest in 'communities' is tantamount to brushing, under, and carpet.

Gove handled the awful Coburn with aplomb today on the DP. biggrin

Barry Gardiner was also on, another MP who seems to listen and respond (like JC, JRM and John Redwood), unlike most.

I thought Gardiner completely lost his st, interrupting Gove and yelling at him to stop shouting and interrupting him.

Yes, I hadn't got to that bit yet. biggrin
He's still on my list, but he's not at the top. biggrin
Though I do have some sympathy considering the twaddle that was being directed at him. Gove is a top needler. biggrin

I saw Gardiner on Daily politics, and he is one of those annoying shifty politicians who will detract from any question given to them and waffle on about something else, and speaks very slowlllyy with lots of hand movements which makes you want to smash your TV up with rage.

Right now Tim Farron is being ripped apart by Andrew Neil on BBC1. This is savage, utterly brutal.

Farron was completely hopeless.

An embarrassment.

Farron is clearly seen as not even at the races on this election ....
After that performance - no wonder. He didn't answer one question.

Arrogant little .

He's probably got suicideitis from hearing what Paddy Ashdown just said. That's the last hope squandered. Distant drums, a lone bugle echoing....the end.
