He has the largest ears I've ever seen; he could fly to Guam with those things.

Surprisingly poor 'This Week', I enjoyed the QT shoutfest more.
Did not have a high expectation of QT, so worked out.

I underestimated the Dundonians - it seems like a very balanced audience out there.
Yep very balanced, a young chap from Northumberland who ran for Labour against Salmond in the recent GE and an ex-Labour activist using a fake name who compared young YES supporters to the Hitler youth laugh

" BBC are set to investigate as to why 6 people with Scottish accents were allowed into the hall during tonight'so program which came from Dundee,Scotland.

Did anybody watch "this week"? Bloody 'rent a gob' Jess Phillips is awful, really really awful..... she contributed nothing to the show, she makes Diane Abbott sound articulate and reasonable.

Swinney and the Scot nationalists took a well deserved battering last night. I did find his justification for the poor economic data quite convincing, I am now also convinced the Easter bunny, Father Christmas and leprechauns exists too.

"Once in a lifetime" pledge, the SNP did not say what lifetime it was, Gadfly, amoeba, Hampster, etc. An easy mistake to make.

Defending the indefensible never looked quite so comedic, thought I had turned on "live at the Apollo" by mistake. I am just disappointed it was not one, or both of the Mc fillet o' fish twins (Sturgeon and Salmon-d), taking the heat.

Patrick Harvie – utterly irrelevant. Used his opportunities to speak to deliver rehearsed statements. As noted earlier in this thread, largely substance-free agitprop.

John Swinney – his grasp of economic reality was non-existent, and his responses to audience questions tenuous at best – bordering on offensive, in fact. Effectively torn apart by Ruth Davidson who could, had she so wished, been much harder on him. Appeared unaware the EU referendum was posited prior to the Scottish referendum(!?)

Jenny Marra – appeared out of her depth.

Willie Rennie – came across fairly well, though I agree with precious little of what he says. He was sitting next to Swinney, though, and you have to think Tony Blair would come across well next to him.

Ruth Davidson – in my view, the only competent elected representative at the table. Not quite sure where she was going with the ‘irrelevant oil price’ argument – could have been framed much better. Apart from that, deservedly came out miles ahead of anybody else (particularly on driving home the ‘once in a lifetime’ point, with the exception of…

Tim Stanley – the advantage of being outside of party politics, and the commensurate ability to rise above pettiness, can’t be understated in its contribution to his ability to come across very well. That said, he spoke eloquently, laid into Swinney and made the case for the union quite well. I’m a fan.

Scotland's unspoken independent economic plan (they didn't really think oil wealth would last forever) was to plaster the hillsides with turbines and force the English to buy the power preferentially at a fixed exorbitant guaranteed price. The UK government even seemed to be creating legislation to assist this.

For various reasons that isn't going to be so easy now.

Scotland could still have great prosperity if they went all out for fracking.

I think there was also a plan to supply the southern masses with fresh water too - the stuff we apparently cannot get enough of (although the Peoples Democratic Republic of Cymru have first call on this).

Could Scotland not prosper from new fishing rights after Brexit - divide the eastern Atlantic between the Norwegians, Icelandics and UK...(with a bit for Ireland too)?

Good to see you're back talking to me Axers, ach tbf we all view things through our own lense, I'm sure there's a few Unionist PHers who think that the Dundee QT would only have been balanced if Swinney, Harvie & Marra weren't on the panel

I couldn't talk to you in the Indy Thread as you were banned and I was threatened with the same if I mentioned your name again!

I may even be breaking the PH master moderator races rules as I type! Lord have mercy.

The author of that article used 'ostensibly' out of context.

Their English is as bad as their maths.
