It’s interesting all this discussion on QT about the nastiness now and driven by social media etc - well I can say I’ve seen it here some posters say shockingly nasty hurtful things to others they even hound follow down and are like a herd egging each other on.

I refer to the 944 & Mars bar 7-8 YEARS ago and yet in all that time and even here current it’s the same.
Unclear why people are like that and clearly the language and style used would never be done face to face its horrible and needs to stop.
Easy to make it a better place but all usernames must istep up and help police this site and help nip in the bud those who think they can get away with being utterly vile hateful and shocking behaviour.

I believe the whole media can't say much about the Euro Election results until Sunday evening, after polling is all done in Europe. You won't see any discussion about exit polls etc the next few days. Any "new" results predictions floating about at the minute are based on surveys that were done pre-election, for example.

Horrific - and apart from me reporting some posters the MODs did nothing to stop it which speaks volumes/ must think such behaviour is acceptable when it’s utterly not.

I think he's right. Governments don't optimise businesses for the things you want businesses to do well. They optimise for government statistics.

I read a great article on the Soviet Whaling in the early 20th century - in the end the ships were bringing in rotten whale carcasses because the politicians were locking up captains who failed to meet targets. All this despite the fact that Russia needed barely a fraction of their annual catch. (Annoyed I can't find the article, it was a fascinating slice of history)

Germans are foreign aye I catch your drift. Robinson seems to be uneasy about all Islam when he campaigns against ‘Islamification’ - most or all reasonable people would be uneasy about the unreasonable interpretations of the Bible/Quran/whatever.
