Are they suggesting that the police somehow managed to push - probably with brute force - excessive numbers of Liverpool supporters into the stadium?

The supporters at the front of the crown who were crushed - innocent victims.

The supporters at the back of the crowd who pushed - should be charged with manslaughter if anyone is.
In a mass crowd pushing to get in it would be impossible to identify individual people responsible, but in my opinion that does not mean that collectively they are innocent.

Large groups of people have the ability to become extremely dangerous to themselves and others around them, not on purpose but by the fluid dynamics of the situation. A situation which is often difficult if not impossible to control to any meaningful degree.

Read what happened before making offensive and ignorant comments you complete and utter .
Throwing insults around because you disagree serves no useful purpose.

Applying todays standards to historical events
If witness statements were altered, was this historically acceptable? I was under the impression that CtPtCoJ has been illegal for a very long time.
Was criminal negligence acceptable by the standards of the time?

It also highlights how hard it will be to find a suitable jury.

Yes it does. It is precisely this sort of situation that insults where invented for.

His post is ignorant, plain wrong factually and deeply offensive

The poster is an ignorant and needs calling out.

My post goes towards ensuring the truth is not obfuscated by further lies and ignorance.

Are you suggesting that the people at the back of the crowd, who pushed other people in front of them, bear no responsibility for creating a situation that killed people at the front of the crowd?

Let us not forget that Liverpool supporters know about the dangers of crowds - I would refer you to the Heysel Stadium tragedy that happened a short time before Hillsborough.

I wonder how they will pick a jury that has not been influenced by reports on this over the last 30 years?

It would have to be made up of immigrants aged under 30 fresh off the Eurostar.

To those trying to replay the blame game.
Read the inquest findings.

A greater degree of proof is needed in a criminal trial than an inquest. They do not necessarily reach the same conclusions.

its not a question of disagreeing

its a question of fact - Liverpool supporters were dissolved of ANY responsibility for what happened that day- hence the verdict of unlawful killing

another ignorant who simply will not accept the findings of the Inquiry and the fact that NO LIVERPOOL SUPPORTERS WERE FOUND TO GUILTY OF ANYTHING hence the 6 people now facing criminal charges are the people responsible for the safety of the crowd on the day and were part of the cover up thereafter.

you are a clueless oaf and I am being kind. Its not about the Liverpool supporters but the death of 96 people who just went to a football match and failed to come home followed by a Cover up that lasted 27 years. Hopefully you will not have a member of your family die in these circumstances but if you do please come back and tell us its time to move on.
Oh that's adorable.

To be fair the victims' families didn't accept the findings of the first inquest and fought for a second one, so anyone not accepting the outcome of the second is no worse or better.

To those that suggest the Liverpool fans "pushing at the back" were partly responsible..........
1) you disagree with the official inquest findings; are you really sure you know better than that process?
2) you're missing the point. It isn't "whose fault was it?", it's "was person X guilty of a criminal offence?"

The families can never get their loved ones back. What they might get is a form of justice, given that state officers allegedly acted with negligence, lied and altered facts. There is a difference between blame and justice, in my view.

And to posters like Willy Nilly, if you're fed up with all this "noise", you better keep quiet if one of your relatives is unlawfully killed, eh?
