Anyone see Diane Abbott on the Andrew Marr programme this morning? She really doesn't do their cause any good whatsoever.

That's more good news to add to the list of Labour shooting Labour in the foot ahead of electiona.

The Big Questions this morning was good.
Particularly Campbell's ambush of that journalist who wanted to see anti-semitism in all criticism of Israel when he asked her what she thought of Benny's statement that Israel should be for Jews alone.
The problem is that the easiest tool to discredit the detractors is the accusation of anti-semitism. It's a horrible thing to have to try to deny.
The Christian priest on the show said he'd been accused of it for voicing criticism of Israel.
Then there was that tactic of saying that the world only points the finger at the Israelis when there are other injustices in the world. I seem to remember that injustice that kicked off in 1948 - South African Apartheid. The world pointed the finger then and took action until the problem was addressed.

One commment posed by a lady from the Zionist Council was that there are many Arabs happily living in Israel. How true is that? Looking at the map meme from the banned thread, if it is accurate, it appears that the Israelis are well advanced in their integration of West Bank land. It will be interesting to see how this goes, whether it will be a nation of equals or a new Apartheid state.

Let's look at this head-on. The leader in the area was the Grand Mufti, he was the only person who give safe passage to any person passing through the land his people for centuries. Hitler wrote to him in 1932, it was a personal letter trying to persuade him to allow a Jewish settlement within Palestine. The letter was delivered by Germany's Ambassador to the GM one week later. The GM was persuaded and so began the movement of 63,788 jews to Palestine between 1933 to 1939.

Interest free capital loans backed by the 3rd Reich were given to them so as to build houses, every machine used was German Magirus Deutz given for free use. You can today drive down to the coast and drive on to the very jetty that all this 'help' to build a jewish community landed upon, it was built by Hochtief, the same company that built Hitler's bunkers.

Check mate.
you are extremely ignorant on this matter and very childish.I suggest you do some more research on the matter ,come back and apologize and then maybe we can debate .

Its pretty simple tbh, there are those who do jump on any criticism of israel valid or not as anti semitic.
There are also those who criticize israel who use falsehoods and use rhetoric designed to anger Jews and they are anti semitic.
Distinguishing between the two is the hard part.

True enough. As I've said before, the only reason Hitler supported the Zionist cause was that he was a virulent anti-Semite. That's a good argument to suggest that the two are not the same thing, but you don't call Hitler a saviour of the Jews, in the same way that you would no longer use Jimmy Savile as an example of someone who did a lot of charity work for kids.

Whilst your point is correct I was more referring to his ignorance of the grand mufti and his anti semitism ,and his ignorance about the control of palestine by the british, tbh.

Yet to see any intelligence from your posts - lots of thinly veiled prejudice and hate though, as is some of the left's (and, TBF, the Right's) wont. smile

Really? Really??? Every single fact and detail I have written is verifiable, every single one.

That isn't ignorance that is knowledge, whereas dismissing such verifiable statements of fact off-handedly is ignorant in my opinion.

We obviously have very different ideas as to what ignorance is and is not.

As far as I'm aware no-one has said Adolf Hitler didn't hate the Jews, it is patently obvious he did and did not hide it. But he wanted them gone and an easy solution presented itself, he took it, it served his purpose. I very much doubt he saw himself as the Saviour of the Jews. His objective was to get rid of them from Germany and then get rid of the USSR which he saw as being vile amalgam* of the Jews and the Communists, the two things he hated the very most in the World.

  • Edit; AH considered the USSR to be a political chimera, the body was that of a proletariat automaton and the head was the jew.

Yep, she is as dumb as the oxen in the fields. How is such an empty-headed creature be an MP? She is the best argument for there being an IQ test and a Morality test for MPs.

Hmm seems Livingston has been a long time Tory plant!

Labour MP Ben Bradshaw said party members had been "furious" at how the situation had been handled, but Mr Corbyn had "finally gripped it this week with this inquiry".
He added that he was increasingly of the view that Ken Livingstone was a Conservative spy who had long been planted in the Labour party and "has now emerged to try to do as much damage as he possibly can to the Labour party".

this is even easier than pointing out the SNP's idiocy! !

If this is supposed to hit Labour at the local elections I don't think it would be too controversial to say London's Jewish community were ever going to vote for the Muslim, Labour Sadiq Khan.
