Implications of Brexit!
Discussion
Simple for me. I work in and around EU procurement rules which fairly prevent us from favouring procurement of works, services and supplies from UK or local businesses, and yet everyone else in Europe seems to do it. How often do Germany or France buy major infrastructure or other high value projects from anywhere but there home country?
All of the conjecture about us not having the skills in this country to do a job or run an NHS could true - but it is possibly because we don't forecast our needs, invest and train and make the jobs valued enough for young people to want to do them more than other easier professions (or no profession at all).
I used to go fruit picking as a kid and earned a few quid in cash. Now the rules have made this challenging, difficult or even illegal, so we have contractors that are from europe seizing the opportunity from our kids to establish a good work ethic and opportunity for gainful employ. These are the kids that are told the only way to get on in life is to get a degree. I seem to remember a few of us did apprenticeships and never went near a degree - but ended up in industry that we used to have....
So, for me there are loads more reasons to leave the EU but we will physically stay in Europe and in NATO.
I want to tax chinese goods that are c**p, and european imports too, i want meaningful manufacturing on a local scale, i want pride in being part of my country and I want to do fair business with fair countries on fair terms.
I want an end to stupid subsidies and I want to pay the right price for milk that sustains our british cows, farmers and their kids and suppliers.
If you ever want to gauge how we are fixed in Europe, have a look this weekend at the number of votes we get in Eurovision. Theres no greater reason to leave a relationship than when you are not wanted or welcome, despite all the great things we've done.
BTW - if you want to have a party to celebrate our leaving, you can allow your under-eights to blow up balloons unsupervised. If you celebrate staying in, then I'm afraid you can't.

its probably as valid as most public opinions ....

I don't think you can draw any general conclusions about Europe from the results of the Eurovision song contest - that is just a silly little entertainment event organised by a TV broadcasting company that has nothing to do with European politics or governments.

We're out now anyway !"TVR (Romania) no longer entitled to take part in Eurovision 2016"

so, let's close this forum post now, before it's too late ......
I don't remember joining being so high profile funnily enough. If the vote is out, which I think is highly unlikely bearing in mind the spin from the government IN and the media, there will be a re-vote as soon as they can manage it.
Nothing is black and white of course, good and bad in everything but there was life before and there would be again. As for how it would play out...the same as being IN which hasn't exactly worked out greatly in all areas...but I'd rather it was in our control.
I question our popularity IN or OUT.

IN or OUT? I think we should do the Hokey Cokey and turn around Nothing is black and white of course, good and bad in everything but there was life before and there would be again. - Yes, and they will keep having referenda until they get the answer they want! Obviously Cameron will be given the elbow for mistakenly allowing the plebs a say in the first place.
- They love us really, they are just too shy to show it.
