We in the UK have no legal requirement to carry id. This is not the case on the mainland, an invasion of privacy I'd want to resist!

Mr Corbyn for PM by February 2017.
dear god no.
No is about right on that score.
No. Mr Milliband or Mr Benn in 2018. When is the next Labour Party conference - September/October ? That's when Corbyn will get his P45, and his replacement is sought.

Mr Benn is a probable more than a possible and anything can happen in politics, but I still think the date is too soon. My shilling on the side is for Corbyn to be around in 2020, at which point he'll lose. Then Benn will have to overcome the fairer boundaries in 2025, by which time all sorts of events may have transpired.

I think you are right TB, the party will insist on proving Corbyn is unelectable.

Are the fairer boundaries still on the cards TB, have not heard them being mentioned since the election!

Those plans are clearly fabrications intended to scare people into voting Leave. Remainians have told us it's simply status quo in the EU, what could possibly change or go wrong? In any case, CMD has already saved us. Three cheers for our saviour.

EU's four-stage strategy to reduce Britons to servitude

Stage One is mock-incredulity:

"No one is proposing any such thing. It just shows what loons these sceptics are that they could even imagine it."

Stage Two is bravado:

"Well all right, it's being proposed, but don't worry: we have a veto and we'll use it."

Stage Three is denial:

"Look, we may have signed this, but it doesn't really mean what the critics are claiming."

Stage Four is resignation:

"No point complaining now, old man: it's all been agreed."

Electoral Commission contacts all counting officers in UK to ban 'biased' postal voting referendum guides as council pulps 5,000 leaflets

Telegraph said:
The Electoral Commission is hurriedly contacting all counting officers in the UK telling them not to send out a controversial “biased” guides to postal voters which suggest they should support the Remain side in next month’s referendum.

The news came after the regulator told Bristol City Council – which has already sent the leaflet to 47,000 homes - to stop sending out the leaflet and launched an investigation into whether the issue was more widespread.

Yes to the best of my knowledge. The relevant vote was reported as being carried in the Lords so no shenanigans from the ennobled ones this time.

Is there a single politician on the UK scene that you can respect, listen to and be inspired?

On this matter, or any matter.

Rees-Mogg comes to mind.

Inspired by Rees-Mogg? Really?

He is an honorable guy, and I kind of like him, but does he really inspire you?

This is a report by a EU working group. So of cause it proposes more EU. The problem for the working group is many of its proposals are not just unacceptable to many member states but for many would require constitutional changes.
More info on the Fundamental Law proposals here:

https://thebrexitdoor.com/2016/01/11/the-fundament...

Quite an interesting read in its own right being completed before Cameron's "negotiation" with the the EU.

Happily as we know here non of this can be true because we are voting for the Status Quo and the EU will remain exactly as it is now for generations to come. The suggestions of an EU army, And the EU expanding its competency areas to include social security and energy and company taxation, plus individual taxation numbers are all just made up. Plus of course as we know the drive towards a federal state is merely Leaves scare story and the EU has never ignored the results of referendums in the past which didn't go their way, nor has it ever put survival of the Euro above member states, and we will ALWAYS have that trusty veto of course as a back stop. Thank god for the status quo....... Oh wait......
