Excuse my ignorance but as far as I was aware it's not common to have your house searched if you have a scuffle with someone even if you get arrested.
Why did the Police have reason to go so far as to look through the blokes property to find this memorabilia.
Not everyone who get arrested will have their place gone through, they must have thought it was worth doing or they were very keen and motivated to get a conviction.

This will boost his ego and send the message that his beliefs are right and anyone who disagrees with him is wrong and a potential thug.
He shouldn't have had a cuffing, that much is true but a search of the home of the bloke that hit him and this big trial is not going to do anything to cause Owen to examine any of his views or serve as a moderator to show him that sometimes you need to just shut up.
He's not an important person, he writes stuff down and offers his opinion for everyone to read and this sends the message that he is important and down for special treatment .
Everyone needs to hear that they are wrong, too much protection and you end up with dictators and tyrants.

It's telling to me that people don't feel comfortable criticising the left in case they feel the wrath of the law yet anyone can say anything about the right and its ignored.
Try it, apparently we have a far right government here right now, criticise them, write what you like about them and nothing will happen. Do the same under a far left government and you will get a knock on the door.

I disagree with it, I also disagree with Owen getting special treatment for this incident. How many other pub fights happened on the same night that just got forgotten or not investigated?

I asked why it got investigated in my first post on the topic. The answer was that Owen is a journalist. I disagree with violence.
I disagree with the notion that this case is different to any other pub fight and don't like the idea that the police have investigated this case to such a degree while not investing all the others the same way.
Justice should be equal and not just for people deemed more important than others.
So, pursue every case in this way or none.
