Have you read the article?! The words that he wrote?
I was, and am, commenting on the post about the misrepresentation of the artist Kano, whose picture was used instead of Wiley's. My assumption would be that the article will be Jones' usual cliche laden diatribe as he himself has a history of shouting at clouds and im not a fan of his writing. If you want I will read and critique the piece, but that will be another 'sub thread' and won't be related to my responses above.
Had the Sun posted the wrong black rapper, Jones would be jumping up and down on it like a rabid dog
Agreed, and again for clarity, i was pointing out that the error would not have been Jones' fault but agree there is a delicious irony in the situation, not however of his making.
Would he not have been sent a copy of the article complete with pictures etc. before it was published to check that they have not changed the wording or context
Probably not no.

Either way allowing his name to be put to something he has not checked before publication means he is equally responsible. Lesson learnt hopefully...
As I stated earlier, my knowledge of how a newspaper works is limited but I would doubt it. As a contributor he will send words in, words he is responsible for.

Yes, but its the Guardian who have made the gaffe, not Jones.

Anyone thinking this is just a Guardian gaffe is missing the point by a country mile.

.....and deliberately. It’s easy to see.

Go on the Boris thread and you’ll see the massive bit of irony in your statement

Why, has the left wing club on there finally acknowledged responsibility for something?

Have you missed the several posts where I have stated I dont like Jones' persona or his writing? And its hardly leftist to suggest a lazy left wing newspaper is to blame. I sometimes think the posting on here is becoming ever more binary and blinkered. Is this a reflection on society as a whole?

I really don't get all the fulminating and teeth-gnashing about Jones.

He's a fking creep and is best ignored.

I know, I know...... wink

Fair enough but if someone decides to thump him I was definitely looking the other way.

He has a book coming out, on the Rise and Fall of the Corbyn movement.

I remember my mother having the Rise and Fall of the Roman Empire on the book shelf, i assume this will compare....

He does place himself too highly as a social commentator considering his bubble. Still I would imagine he can see Corbyn's flaws rather than blaming a conspiracy against him

Did anyone get to the bottom of his book 'Chavs' and find out why he feels they were demonised? Personally I'm pretty sure it was Labour, who don't really like the course unwoke white working class.

Comrades! I, the brilliant investigative journalist Owen Jones, have conducted a through investigation into why Jeremy was not elected, and can exclusively reveal my findings. The failure in the election was the fault of the following counter-revolutionary groups:

- the far right
- everyone who earns over £80k a year*
- Trump
- gammons
- fascism
- racism
- islamopohbia
- leave voters
- the BBC for photoshopping his hat
- Murdoch
- Farage
- Israel
- Russian bots
- centrists
- Tony Blair
- voters too thick to understand his policies

*please not this does not include Labour MPs, activities or Union bosses, because that's totally different

It was most definitely not the fault of the following:

- Jeremy Corbyn
- John McDonnell
- Labour policies
- socialism
- Owen Jones
- the unions
- Corbynites who spent the run up to the election telling everyone that if they didn't like it, why don't they just fk off and join the Tories.
- Kier Starmer, who I fully back and always have done
