I don't think anything of the sort, I find it a fascinating case which could have major repercussions for our constitution and governance. I'm interested in other people's thoughts on it, hence bringing it up.
I have no issue with the case whatsoever as the government should follow the constitution to the letter so if the case provides clarity than that can only be good.

What i do take issue with is the potential motivations of the individuals behind the case as it doesnt seem to be reported as a constitutional issue but a referendum "get out".

Can't help but think the Government is worried that if invoking A50 went to a parliamentary vote they might lose.

These guys are funny.

They say no negotiations can take place until Article 50 is invoked, then say the following.

"EU officials are also disappointed that May did not reveal detailed plans during recent meetings with Donald Tusk and Martin Schulz, presidents of the European council and parliament respectively. “I thought we would have got a little more from the PM,” said one source. “Whether she is keeping her cards close to her chest, or there isn’t a lot of substance, we don’t know.”"

Ermm, you want no negotiations before Article 50 is invoked, that works both ways chaps.

Soubry calls out Fox for his "freer" free trade.

https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2016/sep/30/a...

Any ideas what his "freer" free trade with the EU means? Most experts concede our deal with the EU won't be as good as now, so what is he smoking?

Meanwhile, Nissan want some hard cash guarantees to stay in the UK:

And Jaguar say some are turning their noses up at their products - I wonder why they suddenly view the nation that produces them in a poor light:

Ever thought of joining the Philharmonic timpani section?

I have a funny feeling those grasshoppers I saw today were actually locusts.

As most of you know, I voted for Brexit.

Some of you find it difficult to understand my decision.

You say that I am ignoring the wishes of young people.

I would suggest that us "oldies" also have value.

I have reached that stage of my life where I need a little more medical attention than I used to.

So, I would like to see an extra £350Mn a week spent on the NHS.

Why should all the money be spent on the young?

I wonder how many jobs directly, and indirectly rely on Nissan being in Sunderland? They were the first area to declare a leave vote were they not?

Everyone has value and every vote that was cast has value. You made a clear decision based on the points you mention and that is what democracy is about. I wonder if we could fast forward five years, how much better the NHS would be and how much of that £350m a week the NHS sees.....

You still actually think the money is coming. How quaint.

Cynic? No, just not an idiot.

You'll need a chunk of that cash to bribe Nissan and Toyota not to p1ss off to the EU - if you care about UK jobs and GDP that is.

Money well spent - unless we stay in the Single Market of course. But then we can't keep those nasty foreigners out.

Ah, decisions, decisions.

I'd love to know what May is really thinking. Her autobiog in a few years will be worth a read.

Soubry laugh Needs sectioning.

Nissan, give them the 10% tariff we get back from BMW/Merc/Vag group when the EU play silly games.

Ralf Speth: Apparently potential customers are going into Jag showrooms to say "we're not buying Jags because the UK is leaving the EU". laugh
Why the feck would they bother!

Seems like the EU are calling our bluff already.

https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2016/sep/30/u...

"Go on then, they say. Go hard if you want to." [Stifled chuckle].
