How do we think EU negotiations will go?
Discussion
Brexiteer reasoning:
'The fact that I will be £x poorer than I otherwise would be in the absence of Brexit does not mean Brexit has lost me money.'
If GDP is lower than it otherwise would have been, we are poorer as a country. That should be uncontroverial. Characterising it as merely missing out on growth is childish. It is not as though Britain has so much growth that it can afford to slow its rate!
The economy is in a bad way. It is reckless in the extreme to be entirely unconcerned about knocking 10s of billions off GDP.

Yes. Because that is 4000 pounds per person per year.
How many families of four can cope with losing 16000 pounds a year?
Yes? So as it related to my post, you are saying yes they will starve on the streets, and they will go on holiday once a year...How many families of four can cope with losing 16000 pounds a year?
That would have looked good on the bus.

No, that’s the position of one person. It is not ‘Brexiteer reasoning’ or any such generalised nonsense. Please stop pretending it is.'The fact that I will be £x poorer than I otherwise would be in the absence of Brexit does not mean Brexit has lost me money.'

According to some internet posts, certain ‘Remainers’ thought that Brexit meant that people would no longer be able to travel to Europe.
Is that ‘Remainer’ logic or just the ignorant opinion of a small number of people who happen to be on the Remain side of the argument?

The entire internet? If we're playing that game, then I'm sure I can find something somewhere that shows Leavers eat their own children & fling stones at strangers. Although the former is arguably true anyway.ORD said:

No, it's the remainers who say we'll be worse off than otherwise. Then stretch it to saying we'll be worse off than at present or even than Brazil is at present, even though even their most pessimistic economists say no such thing. 'The fact that I will be £x poorer than I otherwise would be in the absence of Brexit does not mean Brexit has lost me money.'

It is the remainers who characterise missing out on growth as a depression, which it clearly isn't. Depression is the economy shrinking.

You are making a fool of yourself here.
Which is what I am thinking of you to be honest. Fair enough to say "we will all get poorer" but your posts have been all about 'the sky falling down' and any one who asks exactly what this entails gets an "I'm considerable clever than you" type answer.
What is the point?
