Tin, you will struggle to convince many here with your logical analysis and facts.

I wish I had a brain.
As if by magic slasher the no brain scarecrow turns up to support his friends Tin man and the Cowardly Lion in the battle against the wicked witches of the Brexit.

Adj-real reasons. Like what? Not immigrants? I've already said I don't like the FOM. I don't like a lot of EU 'stuff'

Worth as in worth investing time doing a trade deal. I like to be pragmatic about things. Are the all new beautiful, best deals ever, negotiated by people who have no experience in negotiating trade deals at all, going to be so much better than what we already have, to offset any negatives induced by tensions with our biggest trading partner.

You realise we don't have any trade deals at all at the moment? Our masters in Brussels forbid it.
Hence 'what we already have'. 'Our masters' - do you feel oppressed? Are you often a victim?
In terms of trade deals 'what we already have' is nothing. So any trade deal with say India, China, the USA, is going to be better.

In 3 or 4 years time are robot, jjlynn etc going to be still here and admit they were wrong?
Or are they going to do the fingers in ears thing like a certain poster who was catastrophically wrong on another subject?
I said on threads where I was wrong that I was wrong.

This whole notion of having to be 'right' on an internet forum, with a bunch of random people is totally surreal. There are few people on the whole forum where one can learn something from, everything else is a past time. Random noise.

What I do find entertaining is an echo chamber where random people know more about business than Musk and Bezos, where people know how to fix NHS with few simple measures while people who spend their whole life studying the subject are struggling, where people quote 'order-order' and 'breitbart' as definitive source of 'the truth' with couple of conspiracy theories for good measure.

My bad, I was under impression that we already trade with 'India, China, the USA', as in 'what we already have'.

I'm in two minds about this, the common sense approach is that we're part of the EEA and implementing GDPR in full, so the day after we leave nothing has changed and we're just as adequate as we were before.

However I listen to an American podcast about these kind of issues and they see a very different side to the EU privacy commission. From the outside it seems a very petty and protectionist organisation who selectively enforce their own laws when it suits their own agenda and based on that viewpoint I'm not so sure the common sense approach is likely to happen.

The truth probably lies somewhere in the middle, as is usually the case. Let's hope so anyway!

You will escape? Where to? It is interesting to see how many want/urge you (or anyone not committed to brexit) to leave. It seems to be a fixation with some who is allowed or welcome in the UK.

I do find it a bit odd how May is basically not offering to allow EU nationals to come and go from the UK - i.e. if they are not in the UK non-stop for 5 years they lose rights. What if they want to work around and come and go? Not allowed it seems, or at least not without risk of being dicked around. I'm not sure why that is in the national interest - this will just annoy/put off the most skilled who are likely to move around a fair bit.

At some level this has to be damaging for our ability to attract talent. Bizarre.

I think he was trying to type "bed wetter". A favorite insult of a ultra brexit poster, now seemingly banned for various posting infringements, usually related to the "reason we cannot discuss".

The irony is it seems he is no stranger to bed wetting himself when it comes to plastic trim. wink
