A bit disappointed with all the back stabbing etc...self- serving pricks
Regardless of who you prefer just like the Labour party they need to prevent infighting- Rather than giving personal attacks on why the OTHER person isn't good enough they should be concentrating on why themselves are best for the job..

What confuses me is Gove's plan.
To shaft Boris and the posh boys. HTH.Gove - PM
Leadsom - Chancellor (might lack experience, but worthy of a top job in the cabinet)
There are already murmurs within the EU about relaxing Freedom of Movement (shame they didn't do that before, mind you that's more of an indictment of Cameron's weak spine!), so hope there, and no general election necessary (not that there was anyway).

Dirty game, and would not be surprised if Cameron is pulling a few strings behind the scene.Regardless of who you prefer just like the Labour party they need to prevent infighting- Rather than giving personal attacks on why the OTHER person isn't good enough they should be concentrating on why themselves are best for the job..
Glad to see Gove enter the race. Should split BJ's vote and make it more likely that someone vaguely sane, competent and with some electoral appeal wins ... i.e. neither BJ nor Gove. I've always taken a pretty dim view of May. She bullsts in order to sound tough. But at the moment she is the obvious old guard candidate, and stands a very good chance of winning. She's certainly one of the least bad candidates. But the party must look to the next election. I find it hard to believe that May can reach out to the broader electorate. The Conservatives really ought to take Crabb's candidacy very seriously.

Don't be so sure. Gove may well replace Boris as May's strongest competitor. In fact I wouldn't be surprised if Boris steps aside and backs him.
Gove is a reformer and a conviction politician, if Brexit is to be driven through he would be far better at doing so that Boris.

Haven't seen Theresa's speech yet but I understand she's made a u-turn on ECHR?
I am utterly dissapointed by this, from Theresa May of all people! She has spent the last few years fighting against the ECHR to deport foreign murderers and being overturned. I'd have thought this would have been one of her top requirements. Dromedary66 said:

There's been a spat I think, or else Johnson's support for the Norwegian option has ruffled his feathers.
I think Gove's plan is a straight block of Boris. Split the Leave vote, undermine Boris more generally. I agree there is probably a spat behind it. But bottom line is that the attack on Boris's leadership skills underlines a lot of people's suspicions. Whether it's true or not doesn't really matter, because the impression has now been made indelible. May said last night that Boris or Gove would be her SoS for Brexit (a *very* smart piece of political manoeuvring, IMO). My guess is Gove has a specific guarantee from her to that effect.
