If the EU doesn't control its own borders, staying in gave us little to no control by extension. That's the key issue.
We aren't part of Schengen. It makes no difference whatsoever.
Being part of Schengen is neither here nor there. Schengen is an area within the European mainland where borders have been removed between countries. Anyone with a valid EU Passport is entitled to go to any other EU country regardless of Schengen, so anyone with an EU passport may rock up to a UK border, be asked to produce the EU Passport, and let through if they have one.

Has Merkel made any statement yet? Is she still around?
Something weird is going on with Merkel. The BBC had:

Staff at the Chancellor's office met this evening to assess the situation but Chancellor Angela Merkel was not present, DPA (German Press Agency) said.
Is she resigning....?

Failed to prevent Brexit, now her country is being raped and shot up by her guests...?

They may be struggling to control immigration but they can choose who becomes a citizen.

You actually believe anything from express? They did post today that economy is doing better than before brexit, and that house prices are rising all over UK. Yes?

I've just re-read the Rivers of Blood speech, it seems strangely prophetic of late.
yes Indeed it does.
So you believe the black man has the whip hand over the white man?
He foresaw immigration creating resentment and unrest, on the general sentiment he would appear to have been correct.

I am merely making a historical observation.

Yes it does because when they get an EU passport we can't keep them out.

Well, now we'll be able to as we won't be in the EU!
Believing there wont continue to be free movement of people as part of the new trade deal.

If free movement of people doesn't end then the growing rebellion against the establishment will not end. We'll get there eventually.

That's not what I said and you know it.

In the EU we are required to allow any EU citizen in.

Not being a member means we can do what we like. It's all up for negotiation. We are in a better situation then we were
Not judging by the economic PMI data today. Ours plummeted and is signalling a recession, Germany and the Eurozone continued with growth.

So much for they need us more than we need them.

So you're telling me you don't believe everything they say about Maddy McCann or Princess Diana?

As an aside, I keep reading that Facebook are using safety checks or something. What does this mean and how does it relate to this incident?

It means people in Munich can mark themselves as "safe" so their friends know they are OK.

What's that really got to do with the shootings in Munich ? - you just keep ranting on with your pro-EU agenda. Did you know there was a referendum on that very subject ? Did you hear the result ?
