Someone, somewhere (on reddit no doubt), made the claim that the assailants were 'escaped convicts'. Someone posted this claim on here and as usual the likes of snorky lap that st up and perpetuate that narrative like it's somehow more valid than the speculation it might be terrorists, despite there being nothing to suggest there's any truth to this rumour.
With the Munich shooter the narrative they were trying to push was that it was white neo nazis. You could almost hear the collective sigh of disappointment as it was revealed it was a kid of middle eastern descent.
Conversely, the eager anticipation that greets each new attack, by those on here desperate to trot out the oh-so-funny 'snackbar' and 'sky fairy' tropes, is also palpable. With the Munich shooter the narrative they were trying to push was that it was white neo nazis. The Munich shooter may have been of ME descent, but I believe he was targetting immigrants in order to demonstrate that he was a 'true' German?

That has to be BS! ISIS regard Daesh as a derogatory term!
That's what I thought - unless someone at a news agency has a policy of using that word instead of Islamic State and doesn't understand the significance of replacing it in a verbatim quote. Or the hostage takers were ignorant. PoleDriver said:

Apparently "Daesh" shouted by attackers - that is odd .
Context.
for example: if you shouted "stop referring to us as Daesh" many people might only hear or recognise "Daesh".
Too much inferring going on.

I thought he fell over and the gun went off accidentally, due to a new shoe he had only just bought and he wasnt used to the fastenings. He had just found the gun in the toilet and was taking it to the police station to hand it in.

Why? These are apparently escaped criminals. There's bad stuff happening all the time all over the world, the past month is no different, just the amount of media coverage it's getting. Budflicker said:

Where did you hear that?and that he was recorded shouting 'I am German' ( https://www.theguardian.com/world/2016/jul/23/i-am... )
It doesn't seem an unreasonable deduction.

Well it's been classified by the French investigators as a terrorism event. So now we're down to whether it is extreme right or Islamist sort.
No, that can't be it, reddit has speculated that one of the attackers may have been someone who was previously abused by the priest. People reacting to disparate 'news sources' is part and parcel of modern life - we can all have a look (if we wish) and see if we can add to the story. Preferably with facts.
When the BBC carries guff like this - "The BBC's Lucy Williamson in Paris says the French government has been under huge pressure to prevent further attacks." - it's not surprising people will welcome other places get info.
