You pay with your phone?????? Christ it really is a different world....
I am an old fart and I paid for a few small rounds with phone last friday. In Manchester.

I even bought a sandwich for lunch when I forgot my wallet.

Everyone's at it.

Are you seriously inferring everyone who is paid in cash is on the fiddle?
No, absolutely not, and I genuinely mean it. Many people will be as straight as an arrow.

But what I will say is that everyone I know, without exception, who is self employed or owns their own business/company, has at one time or another, or regularly, stuffed lots of undeclared cash into their pockets if the opportunity arose. I honestly do not know anyone who has declared all their income. That's just stating a fact.

CJEU decides that Uber is a transport company and not an app.

Surprised: no one.

My understanding is it means the workers(cab drivers) will get better rights of employment.

Do you think the British courts would make the same decision?

In the context of worker status, they have, so far, although Uber are appealing and have suggested a reference to the CJEU. The recent CJEU case was a referral from Spain. I am trying to find out if the UK Government made submissions to the Court.

I didn't think this ruling would have much impact on Uber in the UK?

I thought they were already treated as a transport provider, hence having to apply for licenses?
I think you are right.

Had it gone the other way, with Uber ruled not to be a transport provider, it could have caused more excitement
