Not a lot to do with hate crime either. I cant see any element of hate, and the closest it comes to crime is that its a story about a police force.
You have obviously not been following what the police of today deem as a "Hate crime" then, ANYTHING that COULD cause ANYONE some kind of claim to be offended is pursued with vigour by the gallant boys in blue.

This is only unusual in that the claimant is not a minority, but the judge applied the "Law" equally for a change.
It wasn't hate anything, it would have been a violation of the equality act where the police had applied positive discrimination policies which they subsequently could not prove to be a proportionate means to a legitimate aim. So for a start its not a criminal law so crime doesn't even come into it, for second they likely had a legitimate aim as they had been told they were lacking in diversity, where they fell down is their remedy was not proportionate by effectively banning ALL suitably well qualified white males.

As for your other point what you quite often see reported in the media as some minor transgression pursued as a hate crime is usually has a far bigger unreported back story of harassment which actually is a crime or at least an incident and to be classified as a hate incident/crime it has to be motivated on one of a few protected characteristics.

But lets not let the facts get in the way of a good moral panic.

If the recruit (or any other person for that matter) perceives that his treatment was motivated by prejudice against his race - then it can be reported and recorded as a hate incident (not a Hate crime as no criminal offence has been committed)

As its now a matter of public record does it still count as a "Conspiracy theory" ?, the Trump campaign WAS under illegal surveillance, and there were high ranking FBI/DOJ personnel plotting to engineer removal of the democratically elected President.

This is now seen as the tip of a very big iceberg, the same players involved with the Clinton e-mail cover up, Uranium one scandal, and the farce of the Russian collusion conspiracy are now exposed to the point the MSM can no longer cover it up.

Is ANY of that even remotely connected in any way with the contention Trump colluded with Russia ?, apart from one case of fraud (Where Trump is a victim) the rest are at best a matter of opinion still to be decided by a judge.

What evidence does show is the same people running the "Investigation" are the ones implicated in a plot to remove Trump and to have covered up for Clinton.

I get impression that whatever I say it won't make any difference so I won't bother, plus it's not relevant to the thread.

Idiot posts a video which shows him messing around in a prayer room at a hospital and he ends up getting arrested for “inciting racial hatred”.

Idiocy should not be criminalised like this - although that’s not to say that it shouldn’t have consequences.

30?! I would have guessed at early 40s. Just looked at his FB page, he seems semi-moronic.

Dinner table talk to be regulated?

“ Proposals to prosecute individuals for hate crimes based on what they discuss in their own homes need to be more widely debated, free speech organisations have said.

The suggestion to remove the “dwelling” privacy exemption from criminal legislation is buried in a few paragraphs of the Law Commission’s 544-page consultation on hate crime published in September.

The commission said on Wednesday that it was “not intending for private conversations at the dinner table to be prosecuted as hate speech”, although that appears to be one possible consequence of the proposed change.”

https://www.theguardian.com/society/2020/nov/04/uk...

“ A controversial bill making its way through Scotland’s Parliament would criminalize hate speech even if the offending words were uttered in someone’s private home.

Members of the Scottish Parliament questioned Justice Secretary Humza Yousaf for the first time on Tuesday about the Hate Crime and Public Order Bill, which would establish a new crime, “stirring up hatred.””

No downside for him. If you have one or more of the "exemption cards" (jew, muslim, homosexual, ethnic minority, woman) you get at least partial immunity from this st. If you have none, basically you have to keep your mouth shut and put your hand in your pocket.
