Made in Japan, in the 70's?

An excellent album but one marred by including Strange kind of Woman - a disgusting label.
No woman is strange - only different
I won't even mention the racist undertones of Black Night which sensibly did not appear on the original album but has been unpleasantly incorporated onto several compilations since.

I am also personally shocked at another of their albums. - Last Concert In Japan.
It is a confusing title as it was not their last concert in japan at all and there have been several trips since.

I cannot supress my feelings about this they range from feeling mistreated to being abused.

You do realise there isn't a Kingdom of Arrendelle don't you, snowmen don't talk either.

This site really is a parody of itself sometimes.

It's one person's post! Quote him & call him out directly, rather than just saying the tired old trope of "oH gOd PH iS sO rAcIsT wTf"

I do think some of you just take a couple of lunatic posts and then tar the whole of Pistonheads with the same brush.

Well, personally I wont be happy until the next Tomb Raider film comes out and Lara Croft is played by Idris Elba.

I wonder when the first inanimate object or animal appeared as a literary character and how much confusion it caused. I'm reading something at the moment with chapters from the perspective of woodworm, which took me a while to figure out.

Having to work out whose kids are whose because they are all different races, or even which character is which because they have changed colour is not a literary or cinematic device.

I'd rather a world where every couple portrayed on TV adverts is mixed race, than one where people are outraged by the mere existence of such couples but this is something of an obligation now to present this diversity in greater frequency than exists in the real world. If this then homogenises society it is a positive effect, but one created through the cynicism of the markets forced to appease the minority who have mastered the art of undermining those who disagree with their ideals.

I watched Zulu when it was on again before Christmas. It occurred to me that if they made it now the two officers (Bromhead and Gonville) would probably be in a homosexual relationship, and if not then Bromhead would be played by a woman as he/she is the lead role. No doubt half the British soldiers would be female and they'd be white, black and brown and the Boer chappie would have to be an Indian or a Pakistani. But - and here's the big one - in the pursuit of diversity how many of the Zulus would be white?

I feel sorry for the Australian Aborigines. They always seem excluded from the line-up of even the most woke new TV drama/advert/film/animated film.

Then again - you never hear them complaining about it, so maybe they just don't give a st.

And you don't hear SJWs saying that they need to be cast in the latest series of Hollyoaks, so maybe they just don't give a st about the 'Abbos.

What a time to be alive.

I'm all for people being employed on the basis of talent, skill- rather than box ticking exercises to appease the offended. I remember the days of positive employment to get minorities into work- what a good thing, as I certainly recall the days of horrifically racist work colleagues who certainly did discriminate- be it in employment or as to how they delivered services.

Certain groups will completely endorse the stereotype that they are encouraged by their parents to become doctors, lawyers, or accountants and would almost be disowned for an interest in the arts. This is not the result of any form of discrimination against them.

The unfortunate part is that attitudes from those who make the films in terms of casting and remuneration actually run counter to the demand, at least in the case of women in lead roles in comparison to their box office returns.

My point is, the setting of the film. Its at a time, place, vague point in history where you'd expect everyone to be probably blonde haired and white.

I'm only saying we're getting to a point where you'd expect the next film about native American's riding the plains of America hunting bison, to show a fully world inclusive dynamic of every colour and creed under the sun to be inclusive. and then a few LGBT transgender ones wanting to be called "they" to tick a few more boxes, probably refusing to eat the bison, only wear hemp based clothes and wanting some almond milk and humus. or decide to starve to death as there is no vegan box to tick 300 years ago when roaming the plains.

Completely OT, but a good film, and even better novel. One of the greats of American literature IMO.

A year earlier and you'd have had to deal with their 'When a Blind Man Cries'.

Metaphorically, not literally.
