The High Court's decision is excellent, and obviously right. The Employment Tribunal decision in the Forstater case is rubbish, and likely to be reversed on appeal. The magistrate's decision in Scottow is also rubbish, and likely to be reversed on appeal.

Kudos to Mr Justice Knowles for an excellent judgment.
Thanks, that helps with my dilemma over the apparent contradiction in the outcomes so far.

The level and detail of analysis in the judgment of Mr Justice Knowles is of an entirely different order to the muddled witterings of Tribunal Judge Tyler (a well meaning but weak minded wokebloke). As for the idiot magistrate - a man telling women to "be kind" - FFS!

Sensible groups like the LGB Alliance and Women's Place UK are attempting to fight back and redress the balance.
In an update to that, Lisa Nandy and Rebecca Long-Bailey have now signed Labour's trans rights charter. This apparently suggests the expulsion of “transphobic” members from the party and also states that organisations such as Woman’s Place and the LGB Alliance, both concerned to keep same sex spaces for women, are hate groups that have to be fought.

Looks like they might have a bit of fight on their hands.

They do, but they have some help, and hopefully will win the fight.

Long-Bailey et al further confirm their idiocy by signing that pledge.

If you walk away from Twitter or facebook it seems like all this stuff becomes irrelevant.

Ie, mentally ill people who get offended by everything on Twitter, can be avoided by not using Twitter.

Job done.

FFS with my fat thumbs and the Facebook mobile app, I have accidentally liked loads of stuff while using my left thumb to scroll up.

Utter nonsense.
No he posted multiple comments - you can read the first pages of the linked judgement

He submits he doesn't have a problem with LGBT people - I suggest the tone of his tweets suggests he does. He is one of those types who posts bullst on twitter all day. I thought his explanation of some of what his tweets meant was dubious.

He wasn't engaging in serious debate. Which is funny because he clearly sounds smart enough to do so.

I agree the court judgement was right but this guy ain't exactly a saint.

Social media in general is the main problem and appears to have backfired on society.

yes
A lot of stuff does. I use FB and ttter, but I don't get involved in twaddle, I use it for friends and jobs.

I can get rid of my built up piss on PH if I need to.
I usually only find out about 'outrage' by posters on PH started threads being outraged by the outraged being outraged.

I am disappointed with Nandy for that as she seemed like the most sensible and down to earth of the candidates. Wrong Daily just continues with her usual tradition.

That is the whole point. Free speech must exist for sinners as well as saints. Free speech means nothing it is only available for those we agree with.

some woke female on 5 Live [ where else ? ] was aghast at Boris's post shuffle official cabinet photo
" it's so white, it's not representative " she pouted indignantly, as shocked as if it was a recent photo of the
new Nigerian or Ugandan cabinet.

one could say that about the last few 100m Olympic finals, " it's so black, it's racist " .

Yet call a trans person a 'pig in a wig' and nearly get jailed. Is it really a consistent message, they whole thing is not really black or white and seems to favour thouse with money to mount challenges.

As well as being an idiot she is also blind, as two of the great offices of state are now held by people of Asian descent.

There is a difference between LGB and T. Many LGB people and many feminists oppose the hijacking of their political spaces by extremist trans activists, many of whom are straight men who "self identify" as women, and display misogynist and homophobic views. Miller is, to use the jargon, gender critical. He does not appear to be anti LGB. He refuses, however, to parrot the nonsensical woke mantra that "transwomen are women", and appears to recognise the difference between gender (a social construct) and sex (a biological reality).

My predictions -

(1) Forstater has appealed to the Employment Appeal Tribunal. I think that she shall probably win there.

(2) Scottow will hopefully appeal to the Crown Court or Divisional Court. I think that, if she does, she shall probably win there.

(3) The losing police entities in Miller will not appeal. If they do appeal, they shall lose.

I may of course be wrong!

The judgment is great, and I do hope the appeals go the way you think.

What still bemuses me is how the police have so managed to misapply the HCOG. I know the judge is clearly sceptical of the intentions of PC Gul but i’m not sure this is just a simple copper out of his depth. That Humberside police defended him both initially and at the review gives me the impression that a culture had been adopted which seems so at variance with the actual HCOG. What’s going on there?

It's not though, these extremists are part of the SNP and consequently are in (minority) government up here, and the Greens tend to give such things an uncritical hearing. It's a concern.
