It's unfair to every biologically female competitor regardless of whether or not they are beaten by the biologically male competitor. You clearly have trouble appreciating this.

Using your argument any male should be permitted in a female category providing they don't have a chance of winning.

I think personally this desire for men to enter female competitions and dominate them actually is coming from misogyny. South park made the same point so this is hardly an original point, but that seems to me the phycological place it is coming from. Similarly the extreme reaction against so called "Terfs" seems to be coming from the same place.

What you seem to be saying is that men who identify or sex-change to women are misogynists confused

I can see most sports eventually adopting a 'gender of birth' definition to try and make sense of this, otherwise womens' records will become meaningless and unbeatable by women born with the XX chromosome.

Except IIRC trans campaigners are lobbying hard for you to be able to change your birth certificate to pretend that you were born the opposite sex from your real one.

Hence the chromosome element. I'm no scientist but I'm assuming sex change ops don't work at the chromosomal level, whatever a birth certificate says.

It does seem to me that trans women choosing to compete in elite sport are not doing trans people in general any favours.

That's an easy accusation to make, but could it not come from a desire to be 'in the club' and joining in with the group they identify as?

Misogyny is like racism - you can accuse anyone from the majority group of it and there is absolutely no defence. It's a double insult for trans individuals as you're both making an accusation and stating that you don't accept their personal view of their identity.

They wouldn't meet the qualification criteria. Get them to come back after 1 year of testosterone suppression and oestrogen therapy, 2 years if they are American and including legal recognition and gender reassignment surgery.

I think there is a trans sponsored challenge and significant reward for any elite athlete willing to meet IOC trans qualification requirements and succeeded in winning at their sport. For some reason no-one has accepted the offer.
Are these criteria for all sporting events?

Is there a push to make the ioc requirements less stringent?

Misogyny is a widely misused term these days and is often applied to those who merely have an old fashioned view of gender relations or even give the ladies an appreciate look.

In its true meaning it is those who hate and despise women. I was referring only to women's sport and that is why I question this need of some to show that men are "superior" to women by entering their sports. Yes you may be faster or stronger than an average woman, well done, years of testosterone have done that for you.

Genuinely, I've no idea if this is their mentality: "I hate women so much that I must have full surgery, spend years transitioning, self identify as a woman and then I can dominate them in sport"... but it seems a little unlikely.

Any knitters who didn’t condemn him were in trouble too: many received messages saying that it had been noticed they were still following him, and could they please explain when they would stop and provide a public statement against him.

The behaviour described on that article has started seeping into PH over the last few years. It's so pathetic, albeit amusing.

It's everywhere, absolutely everywhere. The only place you're less likely to encounter such bullsttery is at a good old fashioned working mens club.
