Well probably with some justification, the City hates the Sun. But it would seem to have been a little "crass" to morph the players face onto a Gorilla when he is "mixed race", if indeed they did, as the article says it has been removed. Presumably as they didn't check his family background.
I'm not too sure where you are leaning on this, but they're hardly paragons of journalism, are they?
Fair point, and MacKenzie has history too but the player doesn't even look black - it's ridiculous to refer this to the police. The piece in question was perhaps crass and distasteful but was it really racist? I'm not too sure where you are leaning on this, but they're hardly paragons of journalism, are they?
The fact they took it down suggests they know they have fked up a bit!
Faux-offence and virtue-signalling are getting ridiculous. Everyone lining up to be more offended than the next person and feel better about themselves.
There was a ~10min segment on CNN last night, where a senior commentator had compared Trump's crisis strategy to Martin Luther King's crisis strategy... Cue several minutes of two other commentators shouting about how despicable such theoretical comparisons were, which literally ended with one person going "yeah, but my dad marched with MLK" and the other going "yeah, but my dad fired a racist in Washington in the 1960s", and so on. It was rather pathetic.

It really isn't and no, they aren't, unless you actively seek this stuff out in order to be 'outraged' by it and reinforce your own world view.Anyway, posts like this as a form of virtue signalling as well. "Look at me, and how much I dislike liberals..."

What they wrote was completely out of order, but reported to the police as a racist hate crime? Really?

Yes I agree. An article in poor taste but racist? His comments about the only other people to earn as much footballers were drug dealers. He may or may not have a point but I always thought Scousers were proud of their sense of self deprecating humour and weren't prone to snowflake syndrome. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/39601728

Saw this written elsewhere - sums up the situation well imo.

MacKenzie is a scumbag who deserves any pain, humiliation and misery life can possibly throw at him. That said, trying to mark this as a racist incident is utter nonsense that cheapens actual racism. It was a spiteful, malicious column for sure but racist? What a joke.
Expecting people to show up on time is now offensive if they are of a different race:

You really should broaden your horizons beyond the Alt-Right nonsense you appear to be addicted to right now.http://www.dailywire.com/news/15383/apparently-its...

Show me an article refuting, with evidence, any of the claims in that article and I'll stop using them as a news source
Well, it would appear that only right wing / alt-right media has published it. All coming from the same source (articles appear to be copy and pasted from the original source)... so I'm going to say it's very likely to be completely made up to outrage the hard of thinking.Gassing Station | News, Politics & Economics | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
