The funny thing is he has this entourage and security everywhere he goes, however he hardly tries to keep his movements hidden; Lamborghini, followed by a Range Rover, followed by a Rolls Royce etc and yet if he went without all of that and just drove about in an S-Class all by himself, no one would look twice at him; its all so for show.

If you have potentially dangerous enemies, a high media profile probably helps you keep you knee caps though.

Someone once speculated that the reason Roman Abramovic bought Chelsea and started becoming more "public" would be so that he wasn't murdered. Could be a similar thing here I guess. Fella seems like he needs a proper kicking though at least.

Boris took on Moscow, Roman is subservient. Abromovich bowed down to the mercy of Putin and 'proved his loyalty' by giving away Billions to Russian projects, agreed to become Governor of some isolated place in the middle of the artic and so on.

This article was written in 2008, years later in 2013 Bloomberg named him Russia's most charitable billionaire so appears he may always have a place for Russia in his heart.
