Nothing wrong with Steptoe that two weeks on a small boat in the Pacific with this guy couldn't sort out.

So someone becomes leader of the opposition, ostensibly the person who wants to be prime minister instead of the incumbent, and the fact the media takes an interest in that and has some questions to ask constitutes 'obsession'?

If the media really had a personal problem with him, they wouldn't get in touch with him at all. I can't imagine there are any journalists who look forward to any part of their job that involves the sour old bd.
Imagine he did become PM, every time something didn't go his way he'd have a little tantrum and gob off about how it wasn't his fault and how its all so unfair on him.

Could be worse, the media could not be interested in him at all.

Like Tim Farrow.

Gah stupid spellchecker, though to be fair your comment would still be valid if it was spelled right.

For the effective opposition to exist, he really needs to go. Fast.

What an absolute fknugget, does he not realise how badly that comes across?

But I am interested to know what Angela Rayner is 'saying and doing about education'. Guaranteed what she's saying is utter nonsense, and fortunately she's not 'doing' anything, so WTF is he on about?
I suspect Angela is saying

We need more doctors
Nurses should be paid more
Tory cuts
everyone should be seen immediately
Social care should have an unlimited budget
no reform is necessary as everything is perfect except the amount we spend
hehe

She's just been on R4.

"The early years are really important to ensure the children get the best start".

Translates as: getting up the duff in 5th year right mucks up you're social life, ask me 'ow I no.

It it any different to there previous messages of "free stuff for the masses...all paid for by the rich"

Taxes on education do seem particularly stupid though.

I don't usually follow what Labour does, but that message seems particularly stupid. On so many levels.

how would the state finance the additional 20,000 plus teachers needed if the Private School sector closed. This definitely is not "new" labour it is very much old Labour. Why not make all schools boarding schools so the state can take all the responsibility for children away from the parents.

Simple.

Corporation Tax 35%
Highest marginal rate (personal) 60%
Supertax on London homes over 2M
Increase death taxes to 75% and lower threshold to 200K
Increase VED on cars over 100k to 5k p.a
add 10p a litre to fuel duty

And that wouldn't tank the economy would it...

I love the flexible way that politicians define "subsidy". A person with enough income to pay for private school fees is also likely to be paying a lot of tax, and they are then not using the school place they are entitled to. But not taxing them some more for that decision amounts to "subsidy".

Perhaps he's just going through the motions, spouting his usual pie in the sky nonsense as he knows deep down his days are numbered. I wonder what a post-Corbyn Labour party will look like...

I suppose one good thing is it has highlighted the other major morons in the party so they can be buried when he's finished.

I hugely dislike the Labour Party but a strong opposition is vital for the country.
