Leaders debate tonight I believe?
Yes on channel4. May and Corbyn separately vs Jeremy Paxman.
That's tonight's entertainment sorted. I expect IRA support will come up. Repeatedly.

I thought O'Brien summed it up very well 'I just don't get the impression that he is as disgusted by them as I am'. Pretty much reflects my feelings on the subject as someone who grew up in Ireland in the 80s and 90s.

Lots of people still sticking their head in the sand, but it looks very likely Labour will take the lead in the polls in the next few days.

The surveys found support for Tories ranging between 43 per cent and 46 per cent and for Labour between 32 per cent and 38 per cent, with Liberal Democrats trailing on 7-9 per cent.

I assume you didn't read this part ..

Does anyone know how these polls are conducted? I always assumed that for convenience they would mostly be done in urbanised areas, where Labour support tends to be concentrated.

They are past surveys. Old news.

This talks about future surveys. New news.

The Tories themselves say they "fully expect to fall behind Labour in a poll in the coming days. It will happen."

No, 'a Tory source' is not the same as 'The Tories themselves'.

Labour will lose the general election by between 70 - 100 seats. That is the only poll that matters.

I must be looking at different information as everything I've seen suggests a massive victory for the conservatives. I haven't even seen polls where it's close. Even the BBC have abandoned Corbyn.

If he wins it would be the biggest surprise in the history of the universe.

Or a bloke in the corner of the Independent office who isn't a fully paid up member of Momentum.

The Tories are polling at an average of around 44.8% based on the last 4 polls pasted in the "Snap General Election" thread. If these polls do turn out to be representative of the final popular vote - we wont have seen so much support for a political party since Edward Heath lead the Tories to victory in 1970.

Even Thatchers landslide of 1979 only achieved 43.9% of the popular vote.

Had the Tories been on their game with regards to their campaigning and if their policies had been a little less controversial - it's quite possible we could have seen the first popular vote majority since 1931.

It only seems to be yipper that is suggesting even the possibility of a labour victory.

He's really going to be sticking it to us if corbyn manages to win. hehe

'West Indian Mums will go to the wall for their kids' a blatant racist comment
' the problem with the UK is white people' more racist bile from the fat one
"white people love playing "divide and rule" should have been sacked for that but in Labour, anything goes.
She said that? When? eek

What will interesting is when the tories get a massive 44% or so but corbyn somehow gets more than milliband. He'll then say "I'm turning the party around and boosting support!"

And labour could have 5 more years of the politics of abject failure and incompetence.
