it will only be a matter of time before Labour start to turn on themselves. They had a cease fire during the Election but that will not last long.

I have not been paying attention but wonder how many MP's had a go at McDonnel over his comments? Seems not many at the moment. I wonder how far away they have to get from a chance at number 10 before they start to feed on themselves. Sums the party up for me at the moment.

yep.Pretty much. It's a case of 'be careful what you wish for'. How can the government move away from their position now. Labour is hell bent on undermining. Not what is good for the country. It's unfortunate that needy causes will go unattended too. You can blame the Labour mod
By not being able to move away from their position now, then the government run the risk
of the opposition having a large say in what it actually does in the future.

I think the tories missed a massive chance to recoup some respect by voting against the Bill.

Unfortunate is an interesting choice of words.

I won't start a new thread on this but when I visit The Guardian I get a pop up saying "This site you're on is attempting to close this tab", then it gives me a Yes/No option. If I click 'Yes' it closes. If I click 'No' it nags me a further three times. Does this happen for anyone else?

Not to me, but I have had problems trying to revisit articles in this paper, they
somtimes appear either time sensitive or have limited recall abilities.

Agree completely-when the reality sets in that they have no chance to get into power the message will become more radical, angry and crazy. That's when the moderate MPs will start voicing their opinions again.

Bet365 could do with visiting this site, they've still not settled GE bets. The conversations I've had with their support people have been painful.

I was thinking this, after they failed to get the majority for stopping the pay cap.

Ultimately JC has the choice of forcing a vote on absolutely everything, such that both sides have their whips encouraging their own MPs to toe the party lines.
JC will love this as he wont see this undermining him.
But hes likely to go the way of Sturgeon, and start losing support.

Sooner it happens the better for all regardless of their political persuasion.

But in the short term, im expecting the unions to start pushing for strikes.

You must have missed the fact that despite these cuts, the national debt is still rising. Not a great record by those in power. I'd be ashamed to publicly admit I voted for them tbh.
Serious question - if the Tories had cut even further, to the point that the debt would not be increasing - would this make you happy?

Because I can't see what you actually want? The debt reduced or less austerity? Which is it?

I lost count of the number of time I asked this question on socail media during the GE campaign when someone posted about the Conservatives raising national debt. Guess how many replies I got with an answer?

And?

There is no doubt that they are brave and worthy people - however who loses out instead of them? Are they braver than people in the armed forces? More worthy than nurses? More deserving than veteran OAPS? Any OAPS?

Who exactly has gained from these" brave and worthy people" losing out?

As to OAP's there are many who are recieving winter fuel allowances, many that don't need this subsidy at all. I believe there was something relating to this in tory manifesto.
Though I do concede, it is tricky keeping up with regards to it's contents.

That's right, there was. And when it was suggested it should be means tested so that the wealthier pensioners didn't receive it, there was uproar. From the left.

Which ones would you single out to lose their jobs so others can have a pay increase?

And JC has set such a great example of voting in accordance with the whips' instructions.

Why are you letting the left dictate your Policies?

Was it not withdrawn as part of the DUP bung/bribe?

I think there's 10 mp's in NI who could knock together 1bn to pay for some odds and ends?

Besides removing a pay cap doesn't mean anyone actuall gets paid more does it? it just means they could be...
