Some people - Tony Blair is a good example - always believe that whatever they might be saying at the time is true.
It's easy to sell a lie when you don't think it is one. Useful skill when you're trying to convince people of your argument whether it might be.
Conservative manifesto pledge in 2017 that the party had a "firm intention to reduce taxes".It's easy to sell a lie when you don't think it is one. Useful skill when you're trying to convince people of your argument whether it might be.
Reality tax rises to pay for the NHS (which is necessary to keep the oldies who vote Tory alive for a bit longer).

He's doing commercial litigation in the BVIDifficult to see how it could be bad for his business.
Can't get excited about where the money comes from - it ALL comes from taxation. The money sent to the EU that won't be sent to the EU but might get spent on EUish stuff is all taxation.
The only bhing to be done will be which demographic believes they will be hit the most. And on that there will be about as much consensus as there is on Brexit. Same old same old
Personally I wouldn't be giving an extra penny to the NHS until the objectives of the service were refreshed and clearly understood and articulated. We are chucking money into a black hole and it could swallow multiples of £20bn for breakfast and still the sides won't be touched. It needs a proper rethink.
I'd put Anne Widdecombe at the head of a cross party group to sort that before committing anything more. But you can tell what a political football the NHS is when even May comes out with the "let's chuck money at it" ruse. Another inept manoeuvre just asking to result in her getting torn a new one by all opposition parties.

The quality of Theresa May:
Australian cricketers are suspected of tampering with the cricket ball - Theresa May speaks out to condemn them.
The President of the United States detains children in cages - Theresa May says nothing.
Theresa May.
Au contraire; she coruscated the Circus Peanut In Chief with her trademark rhetorical flourish 'this is not a policy the UK would pursue'. Australian cricketers are suspected of tampering with the cricket ball - Theresa May speaks out to condemn them.
The President of the United States detains children in cages - Theresa May says nothing.
Theresa May.
Kids in cages though.
Well for all the question marks over her leadership and the possible rebellion in the Tory party and in the face of a hostile House of Lords, indifference/confusion in Labour and some fairly tricksy cabinet members. The PM has got the Brexit bill though Parliament, and without the need for a full commons vote on the exit deal.
Color me impressed on this point, especially as most Jezbollah fanatics were still predicting an autumn election following a vote of no confidence.
She can PR out the next couple of weeks, take the summer recess to work on the final position and have a break, then hopefully we will see a bit of life in the Conservatives in the Autumn as it finally becomes clear they have a full term to get st done!

I must be the worst lawyer in the world, because in over 30 years in the job I have never told a lie as part of my work.
But you easily spouted a lie when you posted that May had said nothing about Trumps policy on separating immigrant kids and putting them in cages. So did you:
a) think that what you said was a lie but said it anyway
b) think that what you said was the truth and were simply mistaken
and if it was b) then I'm sure you could easily have done the same as part of your work. Although I'd hope you'd make a bit more effort to determine the facts first in your line of work.
When The Sun is telling you you're times up you should know you're in trouble.

She looks like she’s losing the plot, either that or she’s on drugs - her eyes, her head movements, her general mannerisms etc. All very strange and reminds me of Gordon Brown in his last weeks and months.

I'm kinda hoping now that grenade is through Parliament someone stands up, does the decent thing, and pulls the plug on her.
She didn't get it through despite all the difficulty, she stood like a rabbit in the headlights while those around her frantically came up with fudges. She needs to go now before all these fudges come back to bite her on the arse, as when that happens she'll just look for another fudge.

I couldn't possibly comment on your performance as a lawyer, nor what world ranking
you currently hold based on it. I have no prejudice against the legal profession, nor am I profoundly ignorant of it's machinations. Therefore your assumption is based on a lie.

Mwahahahahahahah! Brexit is a BONANZA and a GOLDMINE for lawyers. It is Ker-ching City. It still sucks.Tax dodges? I pass. I know less than zippety zip about tax law. My job involves helping Chinese people sort out who owns the family business that runs hotels in Thailand, or commuter airlines in East Africa, or some mines in Brazil, or some exporters near Shanghai, or whatever. But those of you who are big on the glib opinions based on zero understanding of anything could inform yourselves thusly -

PS: "in the piss"? I have fairly broad tastes, but they don't extend to golden showers. I leave that sort of thing to US Presidents and such.

It truly is amazing what devastating reasoned responses the highlyeducated and legally trained mind can bring to bear to advance their arguments.
Luckily for me, BV chose to highlight an inappropriate apostrophe instead.
You ignorance of the correct use of apostrophes signals that you are too lazy to obtain an education that is freely available to you, via the internet if you chose to bunk off at school. That adds a distinct temper to whatever views you choose to express. There is, it appears from PH and elsewhere, a notable correlation between possession of reactionary views and inability to write English. This isn't about intellect, it's about education; but choosing not to be educated is not a smart move.
