The comment on the side of the bus was I thought a suggestion and not a promise. Also as Brexit has yet to happen the NHS could still get the sum mentioned. Not sure how any of that constitutes a lie but it is Campbell and he wouldn’t know the meaning of truth if it hit him in the face
The NHS has already had that much extra.

Chequers mate? or stale Mate
It’s a shame Boris didn’t come up with these fantastic ideas during the 2+ years he was in Government . He was a waste of space. No balls & no answers. Now he’s a nobody whingeing from the sidelines.
I think he whines, moans and complains quite a lot as well. He will be a perfect PM for the brexiters.
Says Mrr T who has done little else for the last 2+ years laugh
Touché. Mr T, o have a brass neck, sir

That looked awkward at the end to say the least.

Marr comes across as just as robotic as she does.

Marr is the only person she gives interviews to - and it's generally a pre-recorded one where no doubt her team is given the questions in advance. It's more like a political advert for May and the Tories than an actual proper interview.

Although I suppose most senior politicians do the same these days.

Very interesting article on Politico;

"Poll boost for Theresa May ahead of Tory conference"

https://www.politico.eu/article/poll-boost-for-the...

It does chime with my views on the quiet majority in the UK.

Theresa May is particularly awful at presentation and interaction.

As for modern political interviews, Ken Clarke says he dislikes the current methods too.

I suspect that most people are now wholly confused by the shenanigans of the past couple of years.

The deferential of middle aged/elderly, respectable, church-going, Middle England (eg my Mum) see Theresa May as one of them and trust her, even if they don't actually try to follow the detail at all and may have favoured remain.

Marr went after the Chequers’ deal and after failing to get an admission that Chequers was dead he went after an admission that she would negotiate and, again, he failed to get her to fall into that trap. She held the line quite well I thought in that it was time for the EU to come back and say precisely what the problem was with it. Reasonably good performance.

Marr then focussed (far too much IMHO) on the Windrush topic determined (dog with a bone like) to get an apology for the immigration policy under May’s tenure as Home Secretary. He failed as they ran out of time. However, May’s response and approach was abysmal. I felt all she needed to do was be unequivocal that the policy was correct but it’s implementation was flawed and apologised for that, stating that she was putting right all the wrongs and things would have gone a lot better for her. She tried to do this but just came across as evasive. Poor performance.

I think its more a case of being backed into a corner, on one side the spectre of a hard Brexit and on the other her being replaced with a deranged lunatic.

Theresa May doesn't do compromise or negotiation, apparently. Her inter-personal skills appear non-existent too.

It must be a little awkward at the EU talks.
