I don't think the remoaners could have hoped for a better outcome !!!,they have been belittling our country and praying for a mess just so they could say I told you so ...
Don't be so daft.

I voted remain and I'm not "praying for a mess" because everyone suffers as a result, the only question is the degree.

What is pathetic and almost degrading is watching so many of those who voted to leave (with no plan) and voted for May (with no plan) then pulling the "It wasn't me" face that a dog pulls when it's been caught with the sausages in its mouth when it all goes to st.

My hope is that this stshow of a deal gets voted down. Regardless of how I voted I'd prefer "no deal" over being on a leash.
I said remoaners not remainers.... and yes I agree with you would go further and say the worst culprit is Boris , mind what else would you expect the whole family are as bad or as good at playing ride the gravy train..

No, that's entirely the point. Millions of people believed (and had it reinforced) that this would be easy to negotiate a bhin deal and we had the upper hand and we could just walk away if it wasn't going our way. Well, we can't just walk away - not unless you want to trash our economy by Q2 2019
Is that the same economy that was supposed to be trashed by Q4 2016? or a different economy?

Perhaps you should read the most relevant section of the deal, the NI backstop. The UK cannot unilaterally withdraw from it, and behind the scenes the EU regard this as permanent or the only basis for a future deal.

So we have moved from a membership we can withdraw from if we choose. To a "backstop" vassalage we cannot withdraw from.

That isn't a "slow withdrawal" it is a complete betrayal

No confidence vote called by the end of the day anyone?
Jeremy Corbyn has just got his suit cleaned and his donkey jacket de-flead.

Len McClusky is revving up the Trade Union movement for endless pies and pints and a 3 day week.

They are ready for government. I Can’t wait to pay lots more tax all while staying in the customs union anyway.

Thanks you Band of Brexiteers. You wanted a right leaning independent nation state and instead you deliver a socialist state still tied to the EU. Great job.
Are you not aware of the fixed term Parliament act?

Vote of no confidence does not trigger a GE...

Funny how May delivers a duff exit paper and the remainers and leavers are still at each other throats.

Leavers voted to leave as they wanted article 50 activated. Ultimately the question was do you want out of the EU. The issue is that the version those voters had in their heads is what Boris etc. sold to them. Yes of course Cameron sold the opposite rubbish but they didn't win so its become a moot point.

So if your ire is to be pointed at anyone, Boris should be the most hated man in the country right now from both remainers and leavers as the guy that misled a nation into deciding a life changing vote - then walked away from being part of implementing it. I mean he will be ok, he was born into money, does politics simply for something to do, takes no responsibility for anything he does do that has wide ranging ramifications for people and their lives - he will simply keep writing for the papers on an obscene wage and go home to his nice house etc. Whilst the rest of us, leavers or remainers, pick up the pieces of what we have been left with.

As expected citing the lack of actual departure from the EU - backstop and EU veto on exiting it.

How on earth can this dumb woman think that the EU having a veto on the key point of the deal is something that's acceptable?

She gave the EU a veto, she has agreed to this.

She's never been interested in a good deal for us.

Ha ! You’ve just made me spray my keyboard with coffee. Quality moronic comment my friend. I assume it’s parody.

I and many others simply voted for no change. For the status quo. For nothing to happen.

Many predicted this would happen if a hard brexit was pursued. The EU have behaved entirely predictably. We’ve been saying this all along.

This is all on you my friend. Enjoy your creation.

Not an option - the ever closer Union would have its Army whether we were in or out. Expansion into the old Yugoslavia and ultimately a face off with Russia is the future....

Of course another possibility is that this passes. All these Brexit heroes in the Tory party will not take responsibility , won’t resign en masse and will just lie low.

It could happen. This will reveal them for the empty and morally bankrupt liars and losers half the country thought they were.

How you little band of Brexiteers here on PH can hold yourself high I have no idea. Everyone else knew this would happen and all you lot did was the “ la la I’m not listening “ routine.

Told you so. Told you so. Told you so. Told you so. Told you so. Told you so. smile

'Hard Brexit', a term made up by the EU loving MSM (just days after the vote) and other cronies to help create fear and division for the less clued up.

I did call this end result out soon after the vote, as the media has slowly drip fed the negative narrative almost to perfection. Trouble is, the MSM isn't as effective as it once was, but the UK leaving the EU was never going to happen under May, no matter what. This was pretty clear almost from day one for us who are immune to the poisonous drip feed effect of the MSM and their constant anti-Brexit propaganda. And make no mistake, it is and has been pure propaganda, not news.

Rule one of negotiation is be prepared to walk away. Unfortunately TM seems to have not read any books on negotiations. I voted leave because I could see the direction the EU was headed and can only see disaster and war on that horizon (the Ukraine is a fine example of EU thinking). So yes expecting decent leadership from politicians who have spent the last forty years making their day jobs easier was hubris but in a democracy you don't have many options.

I voted remain but not because I thought the EU was a glorious place to be but because I read up on how this might play out i.e. not reading the tabloids and felt that there were so many inherent issues that leaving could leave us much worse off and that the green and pleasant lands Boris promised were simply not achievable.

Lets not kid ourselves, remaining would have had issues in itself I think most people who voted remain know that. But leavers who are complaining that this isn't what they voted for just show that they didn't know what they were voting for - there should be a derogatory nickname made up for them moaning + the word leave wink

Quality post from the McLaren driving enthusiast with a qualification in Aviation law.

The qualification popped out of the Airfix box containing the parts to make a model Spitfire Mk IIA that had lain forgotten in the loft since 2003.
