OK. I, naively perhaps, tend to the view that the electorate under our system determines what is best for the country when it is explicitly asked a question.

As for trade, what we currently do, minus that which falls away because it is uncompetitive, plus new things that we do because we have become more competitive.
Ok, so you the electorate has chosen what is best for the country.

Is it those new trade deals that we are getting with the rest of the world. If so, what are they and what will we be selling.

I refer the Hon Gentleman to my answer above.

Sorry, no time to expand at the moment. I've got to go as I have work to do today. Keeping the economy humming and all that.

Well, when you get time perhaps you could explain what we will be selling to whom and whether the countries in question will be imposing tarrifs on the cheap produce we will be importing from the rest of the world.

It would be great to hear how it's going to work and how it will be better for our country.

I’ll be happy to. In the meantime, perhaps you might ponder why you are asking this question about the fifth largest economy in the world...

Unless she truly believes what she is saying.
I am sure she believes what she is saying. There are two fundamental issues with that though

1) She changes what she says

2) I am sure there are people that firmly, hand on heart believe the earth is flat, MMR causes autism or that man never landed on the moon (etc). It's lovely that these things are believed with conviction by some, but would you want them running the country?

It's simple really. I'm asking what these trade deals are and what we will be selling and to whom. Leaving with no deal removes 27 countries before we get these other deals that we are leaving for.

Surely someone must know.

You should listen to and look at what the Australian government did when we joined the EEC and threw them under a bus.

They had no idea how successful they would become by forging ahead with new deals in asia Pacific region.

You should watch the video of the discussion their ambassador and minister for trade gave at the Policy Exchange. I posted it over a year ago.

The only person on the panel who was negative was nicky morgan, and look how she has behaved.

I would suggest this is required viewing now.

I'm rapidly coming to two conclusions.

1) A no deal Brexit is a more attractive proposition than May's no-Brexit deal.

2) Theresa May is a bare faced lier. She's one of just a handful of people in the whole of the UK that is trying to convince everyone this deal actually relates to the word Brexit. It doesn't, it's a stitch up, a remainer con.

And the worse bit is this. If there's a VNC and she wins, nobody can touch her for 12 months, guaranteeing that she'll be at the helm if there's another snap election, meaning we'll end up with Brino and a Labour government.

God help us.

Parliament can still reject her deal so no guarantee we are getting Brino.

Why would I want to do that when I am looking at the situation that we are in. The Irish border isssue will still be there if we leave with no deal and we will still need to negotiate our trade deals whilst trading under WTO.

Ghibli. Your posts often end with a question after restating a previous post. Reminds me of what I have heard about the ELIZA computer program and its creation as a parody of Carl Rogers psychotherapy techniques.

Perhaps you are a bot..!

Regardless of personal views on her, who on earth would want he job now?

How resilient does she need to be? I can't imagine being able to even sleep if I were faced with what she is at the moment.

Because you might learn something and its content is specifically addressing the UK position now.

It's nothing to do with the situation we are in.

Perhaps you could answer the question which every ignores.

What are the trade deals we are getting, with whom and what are we selling.
