Old style journalism is in real trouble. There isn't enough money any more to pay journalists or photographers to get out and do proper journalism. So much of what we read and see now has been fed to the media by PR organisations or is trawled from the internet.

Sad that it's going this way, and the danger is that they can make the views of a handful seem like the common consensus. Although I guess it saves them a lot of money by just getting a few interns to browse Twitter and post stories of "social media users reacted with outrage after...." or their own Facebook feeds for "incredible picture that has internet users stumped - can YOU see the real image?"Old style journalism is in real trouble. My favourite is stories that feature something happening in a piece of video/dashcam footage, and the accompanying text says something like "it is not clear where in the UK this took place".
I've taken to commenting "as you are a journalist, why don't you go and find out?"
