Intergration will never happen IMO.
My gran was more or less an immigrant. She was 'one of them' for years. For me there was only one instance of rejection and that from a sour old ruminant who was only happy making people as unhappy as her.I'm British. My father thought of himself as entirely British, as did his brothers and sisters that survived the wars.
Integration happens.

The people that live on the estate Countdown mentioned don't pretend to be followers of the true word of god, with all the peace, love and harmony that brings.
What difference does it make what religion they are? Do you think the aggro that KarlMac’s grandparents was religiously motivated?Btw - I think it's st that any area of the UK isn't welcoming to those that want to become British.
It's also st that any area of the UK isn't welcoming to those that want to retain their Britishness.
Honestly, I don't know what this means from a host country point of view.

I was born in Leyton and lived there until my early twenties. My parents in Hackney and Shoreditch. My parents were working class but I am certainly not. They wanted us to do well and better ourselves. They didn't live in a council house even though their parents did.
There were two types of people that I found when I was growing up. Those that that wanted to do well and get out as quickly as possible and the idiots that dicked around at school and ended up in a factory making stuff for minimal wage. The latter are still there moaning that all the whites have moved out. They went North to the suburbs.
It isn't a problem because no one wants to move to the cheap parts of London. There are much nicer parts of the country to live in.
You may well be surprised at the changes in Leyton and Leytonstone over the past few years. It's changed beyond recognition. There were two types of people that I found when I was growing up. In order for integration to work, people need to want to integrate.
Particular religions (combined with the source of the immigration), do not care about compromise or integration. The locals once "outnumbered" can go without a care, any regret or regard for their wishes. With examples of such in every corner of the Uk and the Eu is there any surprise that communities resist the "influx" into areas they regard as home ?
At work people have to follow protocols and in the real world they do
fact is that people are people. No matter how much the BBC push multi culturalism some people just stay the same and have ingrained views which won’t change.
They will give the politically correct answer but then vote their true feelings
The Tory election victory
Brexit
Donald Trump
Personally I’d feel a bit more comfortable if people could say what they felt but you just can’t anymore because you could lose your job and therefore your home, livelihood and family
It has become a bit of a rigid state without anyone realising.
Imagine someone coming on here, an employee of a U.K. company and explaining why religions and races shouldn’t mix. Chances are they would be fired.
