Hey, did you know not a single person voted to join the EU?
Makes you think huh ...
Yes it does, hence my question regarding why it was Ok for the government to take the UK into the EU without asking the people if this was what they wanted, but it somehow is not OK for the government to take the UK out of the EU now, (even after the majority of the voters in the UK voted for OUT in the 2016 referendum on the matter).Makes you think huh ...

Come on chap, fair enough on wires crossed, but a 6% yoy growth is hardly 'just brought us flat', and yes - money actually spent does trump a consumer confidence survey, by definition.
Q1 was negative, ytd is flat https://www.ons.gov.uk/businessindustryandtrade/re...
Fancy giving the backup to your claim?

Chapman sounds a bit of a muppet and PH reader of the vocal end of the Remain folk here, mainly because his big argument was the big red bus rage often repeated here - what about that £350M eh.Well who'd have thought this, LSE and Oxford Uni study, what Britons really want from Brexit
Seems to be relatively low level of support for 'soft Brexit' and surprising numbers of Leavers and Remainers support 'harder Brexit.

Regardless of anyone's opinion of him Rees-Mogg is hitting the nail in the head. A proposed party calling itself The Democrats whose stated first intention is to overturn a democratic decision. What a set of Muppets.FiF said:

Can't be. I read here everyone was against any kinda hard Brexit now, even those voted for it. Seems to be relatively low level of support for 'soft Brexit' and surprising numbers of Leavers and Remainers support 'harder Brexit.

You know it makes sense.

IMO it's about time his full name was more widely known.
Guy Maurice Marie Louise Verhofstadt
At least his parents had a sense of humour.
Poor old Guy. He really has the EU at heart. Read his books, they give a good insight to his aims.
The United States of Europe (what a surprise title, eh?)
The New Age of Empires. (hmm, no surprise there either)
How about this one. I recommend it!
Emerging from the Crisis: How Europe can Save the World.

I don't get why Chapman is relevant. He once worked for Davis...so what?
He's also whining about what he sees as anti immigrant brexiteers yet as political editor of the Daily Mail he was happy to sign off on headlines like the ones below. And now he's somehow the messiah for the left wing media and a bastion of liberal values.

You can take that another way - it was just a load of old UKIP click bait that was never supposed to be taken seriously. And now he's somehow the messiah for the left wing media and a bastion of liberal values.
But it has been, and now some of the guilty are saying "er hang on a minute....."
It still reminds me of Boris' "oh fck" face on the 24 June. It spoke a thosand words - including "how long will I have to pretend this is a good idea". Quite a long time it seems Boris, quite a long time. And no, your career can't survive the fallout, no. Hence the face.

As the PH leading ( but Eddie is coming up fast ) EU flag waver, that was a valiant defence you put forward, but also ultimately a bit lame. But it has been, and now some of the guilty are saying "er hang on a minute....."

I guess at least he and ///ajd are at least open in not giving a toss about having any respect for a referendum outcome. After all, we had a referendum on what became the EU in 1975 and we voted to stay in. I voted to stay in.
Apparently, nobody now gives a flying fk about my democratic decision back then, and the rest of the 60+% who voted that way.
It logically therefore follows that referendum results do not stand for all eternity.
So how long do you think it ought to stand? Because the day after I'll be out campaigning again, along with a "chuckle brother," apparently...
