Richard Tice is the chairman of the Brexit Party and also a Brexit Party MEP thanks to the people who voted for that shower.

Whether he's "important" is arguable but he has a reasonable voice whether Brexit Party voters realise it or not, that's the kind of thing they voted for when choosing to endorse his and Farage's party.
You forget that that doesn't matter, the important thing is 'to leave', regardless of anything else.

On a very tight mail group anyone who leaked an original document would be mad to print it or forward it to a personal email
Unless of course someone had used a mobile phone to tak a photo of the email on their screen and then forward it that way?

As for my point on Boris' crew being the leakers, that's pure conjecture. However, traditionally when a serious leak happens then we look for who benefits. I think that Boris has a similar viewpoint to Trump, that chaos makes him look better because it makes the conventional establishment look worse. I don't think there is any deeper cunning plan beyond that, because Boris has never had a guiding principle beyond his own short-term personal interests.
But Boris doesn't benefit at all?, and isn't really involved despite media efforts to make it all about him.

The simplest explanation is usually the right one. Someone leaked it to worsen British/American relations at a crucial time.

In case anyone was in any doubt as to how wide Brexiteers are prepared to spread their arse cheeks for Trump while trampling over British diplomatic norms.
No need for a trade negotiator to be pro brexit for a US negotiation, but apart from that, what's wrong with the tweet?

He should have resigned in minutes of the leak, or been moved to a role outside the US by May immediately.

It was ridiculous of him to not see this, and for May to attempt to protect him.

He did no wrong, but damage limitation was essential and he needed to fall on his swords with honour. The POTUS was embarrassed and humiliated, publicly, it doesn't get any worse...

Wouldn't have affected his career so much if they had moved quicker.

Neither May nor the ambassador did what was best for their country if you ask me.

Perhaps when you start to look at Farage's comments and Tice's comments and look at their associations and so on a pattern may start to form.

Hopefully May will fill the post in double quick time just to annoy Boris/Team Farage.

Normal convention is it would be left to the new PM to fill but Cameron set a precedent filling the French post after he announced his resignation.

Won't stop the faithful voting for him in droves to replace Theresa May.

Edit: it has reinforced my impression of him as a sort of Trump-lite: he will say whatever he thinks will advantage him in the moment.

I like this assessment of Boris Johnson from Michael Heseltine:

A man who waits to see which way the crowd is running and then dashes in front and says ‘follow me’....

Someone should email his secretary and tell her what you have just said.
