Someone should email his secretary and tell her what you have just said.
Why ? Are you under the illusion that he has something to do with PH ?
You have been her long enough to know to what I refer but may have missed it.

Who's his secretary?
You have only been here 7 months so wouldn't know to what I refer.
Aha. I am old enough to remember him sitting on some TV show with the other self serving, cigar smoking, fat cat, blabbing on about the merits of joining the euro though.

And I am old enough to remember the "Westland Affair" wink Maggie properly put him in his place IIRC.

Trump, Kim Jong-un, Putin, Boris Johnson. To quote my dear old Dad (who is 84 and has Alzheimers) "The world's gone mad." Of course, it always was mad, but we are now joining in.

I like this assessment of Boris Johnson from Michael Heseltine:

Who the hell would listen to that old fossil? Tarzan should neither be seen or heard nowadays, relic of a bygone era.
Yet you think your opinion is worth hearing. Funny old world.

All the right names but not necessarily in the right order.

As a small aside and speaking of Boris, given Trump effectively sacked Kim Darroch because he didn't like nasty things being said about him behind his back, how long do you think it will take at the first joint Press Conference when they're stood side by side before a journalist mentions this?

I'm familiar with the affair and i recall Thatcher lying about meetings etc and heseltine resigning on a point of principle whilst a genuine high flyer. Thatcher, for once, didn't have the balls to sack him. She did not covet herself in glory that time, a rare mistake in my opinion

Why is it that whenever I see a link with bydonkies in it I feel compelled to look up the original quote to see what they have left out and the context it was said in... Oh yes I remember... Every other 'quote' of theirs..

I'm sure Trump will appreciate the context.

Re Heseltine

The references to e mailing his secretary (it's not a euphemism for sexual stuff btw). It refers to a poster whose name evades me. He was a bit of a throbber. One time he and got so upset oover something he claimed he would or had e mailed Mr Heseltines secretary.
At the time the forum was owned by Haymarket whom I believe Mr Heseltine and / or his family owned / had a major interest in.

If my memory serves the same poster was prepared to meet up at some Motorway services to sort things out (this isn't a euphemism for dogging type action. I believe he was offering fisticuffs

I'm sorry...but when techiedave mentions fisticuffs I just seem to have this flashback to his obsession with Diane Abbott, and then the need for immediate mind-bleach, of the 100% pure Hydrogen Peroxide variety.

this thread is looking up.

techiedave = check
motorway services = check
dogging reference = check

all i saw next was a reference to Dianne Abbott and a bottle of hydrogen peroxide flash before my eyes.

please welcome our newest ambassador to the US? see i kept it on topic. at least with the peroxide Trump might have something in common to talk about.
