MEP's are there to represent their constituents, not to pander to the EU system.

Trying to suggest he shouldn't work against the interests of the EU because that's where his wage packet is processed is more than a little absurd. He is not being employed by the EU to do their bidding, as is the case for a normal employee in a business, he is there to work for the UK electorate who gave him the job.
I understand this view, but I don't think it is logical. The analogy would be the election of MP who does not support or believe in the role of parliament.

The closest thing we have to this are the Sinn Fein MP's who do not take their seats at Westminster.

The purpose of MEP's is to ensure that constituents are represented when new laws are considered. Farage has never engaged with that. I respect his right to stand and be elected, but if he is going to subvert the role, he should not take the salary.
Farage did exactly what he said he would do, and was voted into position on that basis. He did represent his constituents both inside and outside the EU Parliament.

Hilarious....
I wouldn't shoot anyone in a lift.

Too much risk of a ricochet

I don't recall seeing any post on here (or anywhere else for that matter, at least not on the sites I visit), wishing or joking about killing Obama, Corbyn or anyone else perceived to be on the left. With that in mind, why do many deem it perfectly acceptable to wish death to those whose ideologies do not align with theirs, and seem quite proud of their violent stance?

These same people also seem to be very quick to be outraged on other people's behalf at even the most modest of perceived sleights, but if they are questioned about their own stupid ill thought out comments, they cry foul and resort to the exact same insults they pretend to abhor and stand up against! Are they ill?

He's always struck me as a self promoter after a meal ticket, and getting a cushy MEP job by pointing to the flaws in the EU was certainly a good one. But yeah, the Kinnocks make it look like kids getting the keys to the sweet shop.

A bit like many in the SNP or Lib Dems- scream blue murder about a problem knowing that you'll never be on the line to find a solution. The responsibility of government killed the Lib Dem vote, Farage can't be held responsible for any policy, so he will remain an immaculate figure to his supporters.
Regarding your first point, wouldn't that make Farage the turkey who voted for Christmas? He lost his cushy MEP job by campaigning for Brexit!

Nice picture.

Now, if the, obsessionally offended, would just feck off and let the people's choices work together then we will be far, far better off than we have been in decades of EU stagnation and decay.

That's right, wealth creation, spread throughout society.

I understand that is an alien concept for those of the left who would wish to control every facet of our lives, but guess what, things are going to change.

In one sense, but unlike all of the other MEP's (or UKIPpers!) we can't even remember the name of, Farage use of the parliament for self promotion means he's not without an exit himself. He's voting himself out of a job, but not a career. Same with Alex Salmond/ George Galloway / probably Mhairi Black in the future- they'll always be the go-to guys when you want a talking head to represent a position and sell some papers.

He's got a good year ahead of him on the lecture circuit in the US - a lot of political science people want to know how what just happened happened.

He is. He's making sure that the EU isn't at the back of the queue up until the UK leaves - then it can get stuffed.

Or something.

Didn't know you had to shoot someone if you got stuck in a lift and had a gun, thought you just waited until you can get out. Anyway I would do that and keep the gun and shoot you.
hehe
